My background began in video production, motion graphics, and graphics design in general. I've spent the last 10 years of my career in bustling post production, spending what felt like millions of hours hitting tough editing deadlines and crafting unusual client requests into moving graphics. So how did all of these fields drive me into the wedding correspondence business you ask? I had an idea of
what I was interested in going for -- an artsy, contemporary, down-town studio loft type theme. Sleek colors and modern lines -- just my minimalistic taste by nature. Planning was going pretty seamlessly, until I came to the Save the Date/Invitation challenge and then the process came to a grinding halt. I spent HOURS online and on Etsy, scrolling through hundreds of wedding packages, looking for the magical one that embodied my style. Floral imagery, cursive lettering, and formal text wording just didn't appeal to me; so to be honest, I'd say about 95% of the options at that time just wouldn't work. I finally decided that the task of designing the correspondence was ultimately up to me if I wanted something that felt right for our wedding. I took on the challenge, never having designed an invitation package before, and although I probably spent way too much of my free time revising every finishing detail multiple times, I ended up with something that I aboslutely loved. After accomplishing all of the initial layouts, printing everything myself and assigning my husband to hours of manual cutting and trimming work -- I sent the packages out and never felt better. That was what sparked Indie Hatch. I decided to start creating other invite sets that embodied my artistic perspective in the hopes that future brides who are planning their weddings are currently seeking designs for their correspondence that are unique and definitely do not follow a typical format. Feel free to email me with any questions! I look forward to working with you.
