Hey guys! A member of the print fam was nominated for the WSU homecoming and voting started this week! Aryawna has been really excited about this and it would mean a lot to her if we gave her our support. You can vote once a day until Friday through MyWSU. Click the box where it says student tools, hit vote homecoming, and then go to ballot and vote for our girl!

The last officer bio for the fall semester is Lauren Morris, the Tornado Alley Press social media manager. She is a senior Criminal Justice major with a minor in Art and Design with an emphasis on Printmaking. Her favorite print process is relief or relief reduction, "The physical effort it takes to carve out the wood or lino blocks is very fulfilling and calming" and she hopes to continue making prints from home after she graduates. "I've found an amazing outlet with printmaking and it's been great to discover a love for this art process, I hope to guild continues to grow and get more people interested in printmaking".

TAP's first Kansas Steamroller Event was a success! A huge thank you to everyone who came out to see us in action and support the arts as well as to all the artists and groups who collaborated with us. The teamwork was incredible and it was great to get to work with such amazing people.

Also another huge thank you to Jason Sculia for attending the event and conducting a demo on electro etching at the print shops Saturday morning. Shout out to Public at the Brickyard for providing refreshments and Danza Apache Guadalupana for their amazing performance at the event as well!

Coming to you November 1 is Tornado Alley Press's first Kansas Steamroller Event!! Featuring work from printmakers at WSU, K State, Emporia, and local artists the event will be surrounding the theme of Dia de Los Mu***os. It will be held at the new Gallery at 344 N St. Francis from 6pm - 9pm. Join us for printmaking, food trucks, and fun!! 🔥🌻🖤

Next officer bio coming at you. Lexi Behee is a senior BFA Graphic Design student with a printmaking emphasis and the TAP guild secretary. As far as printing processes go she has a hard time deciding between intaglio and relief print (intaglio is kind of a surprise and carving is very soothing). "I’d like more people to know what printmaking is since I talk to some people and they’re still super confused. Hopefully, I can get more T-shirts printed this next year!"

Continuing with officer bios, next up is our Vice President and Treasurer Shaunte Levine. Shaunte is a 3rd year, printmaking major at WSU. "I enjoy the physical work that goes into Printmaking, and my two favorite processes right now are lithography and relief. I am just learning and exploring right now with art... I'm not just trying to make beautiful art, but art with a message".
