Time for a little reflection.
We are celebrating 60 years in business this year in the Wildwoods.
As a 59 year old 2nd Generation owner, I have been here literally all of my life.
We sure made alot of signs in all of those years and along the way met many great people/customers. A lot of them opened businesses and came and went without really getting to know them. But with many of them I have built some really great relationships. I could name quite a few that show us loyalty and respect as sign professionals, and in the same breath I'm really happy to just talk to them as friends when they call or when I run into them. I'm always interested to hear about how they are doing in business and more so about how their families are doing.
We as a local community lost a couple good ones in the last week or so. True champions of the Wildwoods.
In a previous post I touched on the passing of Jack Morey, an amazing client, friend, visionary, businessman and one of the most upbeat and inspiring men I knew.
Al Brannen was another of those great "clients" and friends. Whenever he came by to talk about a sign project we would usually end up talking for an hour or so about Wildwood history, our Dogs, Nascar, our children and grand children, Jeeps, cars, etc. I always enjoyed our conversations. He will be certainly missed.

Rest in Peace Jack Morey.
We are still in disbelief regarding his passing. He was not only a great visionary and one of our most creative clients, he was also a great friend. I was "growing up" in the sign business, taking over for my father about the same time Jack was taking over the creative reigns within the Morey Organization. Whenever he called, I knew a fun new creative project was coming my way. Most of the time it started out as scribblings on a napkin then turned out to be an amazing finished "sign" or more often than not Real ART. He tested our signmaking skills challenging us in all kinds of ways. He had such a passion for these projects and so much confidence in us that we always went above and beyond to make his vision a reality. I'm always proud whenever I walk onto a Morey property I see and reflect on all of the projects we worked on together.
Jack was more than a great client., We had great discussions about business, Golf, Jeeps and most of all about our families, wives, children and most recently the excitement of us both recently becoming grandparents and how amazing that was.
My heart aches for his amazing family, but his Legacy will live on in the Wildwoods for many generations to come.

In a few weeks it will be 2024, that will be 60 years for us in business serving the Wildwoods and Cape May County!
We made a ton of amazing world famous, award winning signs out of our little shop here in Wildwood. We have always had and still have some great talented employees, great customers / relationships and vendors that work with us and support us. I’ve seen many many changes over the years and it is always a challenge to keep up with the changing times. I actually just found our original contractors license from the beginning. That’s right!, they used to be stamped steel back in the day. Every day I walk in the door I can’t help but think about the great Craftsmen I grew up with as a kid in this place. As the son of the owner, they would pick on me, call me names, and always challenge me to have the work ethic and be the absolute best I could be, as a part of this business. Unlike many of the spoiled youth of today, I couldn’t pout, mope around or quit. I had to suck it up and try that much harder to earn their respect.
Al Eichhorn, David Peters, Nick Herman, and my Dad, Bob Hentges, were the first main group of Artists, fabricators and damn talented hard workers in the beginning that taught me everything I know about this business and also many life lessons a young man could only learn from seasoned talented men.
Anyway, enough of the rambling on…I thought the Contractors licenses were interesting.

We need a shop helper, maybe you can learn to apply vinyl, paint, do some electrical work, go out on the road doing some service and help with installing signs. If you have prior sign or electrical or welding experience that would be great, If you don't but are a good worker and fast learner we can teach you all kinds of really cool stuff!.
