The workshop was a gathering of nonprofits, agencies, and people from around the state who came together to share and present ideas on how to make Alaska watersheds more resilient.

This is one of the most gratifying design projects I have ever been part of!

My friend and wonderful Alaskan Artist Shauna Potocky asked me a few months ago to work with her mountain paintings and bear sketches to design a logo to help increase bear awareness.

The backstory: Last summer, there were very few berries in Alaska, and the bears were hungry. Shauna lives in Seward, where bears frequently came into town from the mountains looking for food. A mama and cub went to Safeway every day for a lot of the summer, and Shauna decided to do something about preventing further habituation of bears in her town. She contacted me to design the logos, then....

She printed stickers and worked with the Seward Police Department and some local collaborators on a new Bear Awareness and Education campaign. The logo and stickers will launch in the community this weekend!

It's been a busy fall around here! I just finished up a fun logo project for https://seasmokearts.com. This logo was complex with layers and subtle details that speak to the place the business is located. The business owner/artist Shauna Potocky supplied an original watercolor painting of the mountain scene in Seward, Alaska where Sea Smoke Arts is located. So fun to work with original place-based art!

We designed the logo in two different colors - which color do you prefer? We can't decide :)

KS Wild invited me to do an art show for First Friday on June 2nd in Ashland!!

The last two years have led me on long walks in the Redwoods and my local forests in the Siskiyous in Williams. My deep passion in photography is Black & White Portrait work, and I applied that same love to the trees and things that grow beneath them.

A community hiking area and forest in Williams is at risk right now by a proposed BLM logging sale called Penn Butte/Late Mungers. I am donating 50% of the proceeds of this art show to KS Wild to support the work they are doing to stop this timber sale.

This poster was fun to work with last week. I don't often get to use such bold colors in design, but this orange is now saved in my swatches. I love the salmon egg tint.

I'm super excited to share this new logo from a project with Wood Frog Farm in Strelna, Alaska!! The mushroom and frog were hand drawn and colored by Illustrator Kristin Link. Her art was then inserted into the logo garden. Such a fun design to work on!

It was a joy working with Tenley Nelson and Kristin on this project. I can't wait to buy a t-shirt and sticker

It was so fun creating the graphic design for this single Alice DiMicele just released! Alice is a wonderful Southern Oregon singer-songwriter, and is a strong advocate for rivers, oceans, and all things earth.

Transitioning from a life and career in music to photography, writing and graphic design has been a roller coaster ride! One of the many blessings, is working with musicians out there on the road, recording new albums, making singles, finding a way to get music to the people. It is so fun working on these projects that are close to my heart.

Logos can be as simple as one shape, one color, or combinations of colors, text, and shapes. But, every now and then a logo has to be printed or used as black and white only, so make sure to have a B & W alternate of your logo design.

This logo doesn't have a color alternate - they chose to make the black and white aesthetic part of the branding. The upside? They have one logo that can printed anywhere, in color or non-color mediums.

This magazine/podcast project was a powerful experience that revealed a passion for graphic design. Creating a magazine cover and layout is creative, fun, and similar to putting puzzle pieces together to make a larger picture.

We're super proud of this one. This cover is the 1st of 3 issues that were published in 2019.
