Sometimes the most meaningful projects are the ones closest to home.
Project Spotlight: American Legion Post 228
This was truly an honor to design.
Creating the website for American Legion Post 228 wasn’t just another project for me, it’s personal. As a member of the Post myself, I wanted to build something that serves not only our Legion members, but also veterans and community members who want to better understand what the Legion does locally and what the American Legion represents as a whole.
For many of our older veterans, the Legion has long been a place of camaraderie, service, and support. As those generations age, it becomes even more important that younger veterans know these organizations still exist and that resources are available to them.
Not every veteran realizes the support networks that are out there; whether it’s help navigating benefits, advocacy, community connections, or simply a place to gather with others who understand their experiences.
The goal of this site was to make that information clear, accessible, and welcoming. A place where veterans can easily learn about resources, where community members can see the work being done locally, and where anyone curious about the Legion can better understand its mission.
Projects like this remind me why I started Murphy Creative Group. Organizations doing meaningful work deserve thoughtful design, deserve to be represented well, and deserve a strong presence online.
If you’re a veteran in the area, or simply want to learn more about the Legion and what it offers, take a look:
