It's a bit of a drive from Wilmington, but I couldn't eat here again and not tell you about it. In the Noda district of Charlotte is Haberdish.
I had the Chicken & Waffles with the Honey Butter Syrup. This fried chicken is definitely in the top 2 or 3 I have tried anywhere. Super crispy breading, and moist jucey meat. The waffel is a little different than most. It not a light & fluffy waffle. It is heavier than you expect, but in a good way. Even thoe they are on the smaller size you won't need more than one. With the honey butter syrup poured on start pulling the chicken apart, dipping it in the syrup for a heavenly treat.
We also ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken. Full of flavor, super crispy, and not as spicy as expected.
The highlight of the visit was the Shrimp and Grits with Bacon Jam, Cheese, and Green Onions. OMG! I've had bacon in my grits before but the Bacon Jam gives it a sweet but smokey taste.
All this great food, paired with the great service makes this a restaurant to add to your list of "must visit places".
