So many brands think they need “better content” when really… they need better strategy. And sometimes it’s the opposite. Sometimes the strategy is there, but no one is actually executing it consistently.
A Social Media Manager thinks about growth, positioning, lead generation, campaigns, analytics.
A Content Creator thinks about visuals, storytelling, editing, trends, and bringing ideas to life. Both are valuable. But they are not the same.

If your content looks good but isn’t converting, you probably need strategy.

Here’s why:
Viral posts often attract viewers, not necessarily ideal followers. The Nick & Demi hug resonated because it was trending, emotional, and easy to share; which meant it spread beyond my core audience.

The reach came from people curious about the moment, not people looking for social media strategy or business growth tips. That’s the difference between viral reach and targeted growth:
- Reach = more eyes on your content (awareness)
- Followers = people who decide to stick around because your content speaks directly to their needs
Going viral is exciting, but turning that attention into the right audience requires follow-up content that bridges the gap between the trending topic and what you actually do.
