We had a combined eight men’s and women’s Neutral Zone Scouts at the New England Sports Center to evaluate the Final 40 events. Five scouts who watched both weekend games on the men’s side put together All-NZ Teams for each age group.
To be clear, these are not predictions on who will go to Buffalo for the National Development Camp, but teams we would like to take to that event and coach as a group. They stood out to our evaluators. Players did very well to make these teams.

The Minnesota HP 15 Spring Festival brought together a wide mix of 2011-born players from across the state and provided a competitive environment throughout the weekend. Several Neutral Zone scouts were in attendance during the event, giving players additional exposure against opponents outside their normal district competition. The festival featured a variety of playing styles and skill levels, and a mechanism to choose which players will move on to the USA National Development Camp in Buffalo in July. We saw every team play except District 4. This report highlights players we thought stood out and also played a part in our WHL Draft Rankings. Players did well to make it here and to make this report.

While this draft is just one year and one data point, there are potential ripple effects that could change the landscape of amateur hockey in North America. Obviously the rule change last year which allowed CHL players to compete in NCAA for the first time is the main catalyst of the changing landscape in amateur hockey in North America but some of the trickle down is already showing in the final rankings of the 2026 NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings; which list the best prospects available for the upcoming NHL Draft. Drafts not only have consequences in regards to who teams select but they can also signal patterns in the future and we believe this draft, more than in recent memory, could have lasting impact.

Neutral Zone scouts have compiled our final WHL Draft Rankings, which include contributions from over 10 scouts across Western Canada and the United States. The list is not a draft projection; our staff focuses purely on the players' on-ice ability.

Each player has been scouted live by at least two staff members and has scouting reports on their player profiles. All rankings have been posted on RinkNet – the official scouting platform of the WHL, NHL, NCAA and most of junior hockey. Below the rankings, we have input an “honorable mentions” category for players who impressed our scouts throughout the year but didn’t quite make the list.
