Master Storytelling: How Florida Blue Turned 12 Stories into One Transformative Narrative.

Florida Blue accomplished what few corporate leaders manage to achieve. Over 12 months, they deployed critical resources to fight food insecurity, expand nursing education, revitalize historical neighborhoods, and support Hispanic community advocacy across Central Florida.

It was a massive civic effort. They had done the extraordinary.

Yet a quiet problem remained: standard corporate reporting, slide decks, and annual reports missed the authentic human emotion behind that work. The people driving the change had no single, unified platform to share their collective story.

Florida Blue approached us with a challenge. They needed a film to thank their community stakeholders. But their most valuable asset was not a standard corporate video. It was lived experience.

We worked with Florida Blue to structure a Narrative Estate that connected their annual community investments directly to regional trust and authority.

The result? Florida Blue's narrative did not just recap the past year. It built an appreciating asset of stakeholder trust and regional unity.
Every business, founder, and corporate leader is sitting on a hidden story of community sacrifice and triumph. When you tell that story with strategy and authenticity, you build an asset that appreciates over time.

"If your goal is to create meaningful value, I highly recommend Mark Hayes as your narrative doctor."
— Tony Jenkins, Northeast Florida Market President, Florida Blue

The largest pre-order in Simon & Schuster distribution history began with a story almost no one had heard.

Attorney Greg Francis accomplished what many thought was impossible.

In 1999, Pigford v. Glickman delivered a landmark settlement for Black farmers who had been systematically denied USDA loans. It was a historic victory, and an incomplete one. Tens of thousands of farmers who qualified never received a dollar because they missed the filing deadline.

Greg took up the second battle. As lead counsel in Pigford II, he fought for the farmers the first settlement left behind and secured $1.25 billion on their behalf, the largest civil rights settlement in U.S. history.

He had done the extraordinary.

Decades later, a quiet problem remained: the public had no idea it had happened. The attorney who fought the battle, the farmers who sacrificed everything, and the triumph itself had no public platform and no lasting narrative.

Greg walked in and asked for a marketing plan for his new firm, Osborne & Francis. But his most valuable asset was not a marketing plan. It was lived experience.

Rather than standard PR, we worked with Greg to structure a Narrative Estate that connected his historic legal battle directly to modern-day trust and authority:

The past: the Pigford cases, the farmers, the sacrifices, researched and verified.
The present: a national book, Just Harvest, in print and audio (narrated by Wintley Phipps), distributed by Simon & Schuster, with a cinematic trailer that earned a 14,000-copy pre-order commitment from Target.
The future: features on NPR, ABC, C-SPAN, and Fox News, and the Vince Monroe Townsend Legends Award.

The result? Greg's narrative did not just preserve history. It drove firm growth, attracting over $6 million in new case engagements following the book's release.

Every business, founder, and leader is sitting on a hidden story of sacrifice and triumph. When you tell that story with strategy and authenticity, you build an asset that appreciates over time.

How does one story raise $500,000 in a single night?

When the American Heart Association needed to move a room of donors from obligation to conviction, they did not need more marketing. They needed Narrative Proof.

Their most valuable asset was not a message. It was lived experience.

The past: survivor stories of trial and sacrifice, researched and verified.
The present: a community with real capability and real responsibility.
The future: a vision of hope grounded in evidence, not sentiment.

We structured those three layers into one cinematic narrative and gave the room something to believe.

The result: over $500,000 raised in one evening, well past goal.

"The way this team researches and structures our stories empowers us to reach our goals and not only reach them, but exceed them."
Heather Maloney, Executive Director, American Heart Association Orlando

In the age of AI, information is abundant, but authentic lived experience is scarce. Scarcity is where value is created.
