Ever been to an event where everyone is wearing the same shirt and you have no idea who's running the show?

Who's staff?

Who's a vendor?

Who's the speaker?

Who's the person you're supposed to ask for help?

That's one reason lanyards never seem to go away.

Conferences, concerts, schools, tournaments, trade shows, and corporate events all use them because they make it easy to identify people at a glance.

Even with mobile apps, QR codes, and digital check-in systems, a lanyard still solves a simple problem quickly.

And with different attachment options, badge holders, breakaway features, and custom designs, there's usually a lanyard setup that fits the event.

Sometimes the simplest tools are still some of the most useful.

Ever driven past a construction site, tournament, or event and noticed the banner before anything else?

That’s usually the first thing people see.

Fence graphics around construction projects.
Feather flags by the road.
Sidewalk signs outside storefronts.
Banners at festivals, tournaments, and community events.

Most of them are only being used for a few days, weeks, or months — but they still need to grab attention fast and hold up outdoors.

Wind, sun, rain, crowds, traffic.

That’s where the details matter more than people expect:
size, material, placement, hardware, and whether people can actually read it from a distance.

When temporary signage is done right, people don’t think about it.

They just know where to go and what to look at.

Ever had everything ready for an event or mailing… and then realized it all still has to be packed, sorted, and shipped?

Boxes everywhere.
Different items going to different places.
Deadlines all hitting at once.

That’s the part most people don’t think about.

Tote bags need to be packed correctly.
Mailings need to be assembled and addressed.
Items have to be split by event, location, or recipient — and the counts have to stay right.

We’ve worked on projects where everything had to land at the same time in multiple places. Producing the items was one piece.

Getting everything organized and out the door correctly was just as important.

When it’s done right, nobody notices.

Everything just shows up where it’s supposed to.

Ever grab a branded tumbler… and then never use it again?

Doesn’t fit in the cup holder.
Doesn’t keep drinks cold very long.
Lid leaks if it tips over.

So it ends up in a cabinet somewhere.

On the flip side-the ones that do get used?

They’re in the car, on the desk, at the gym… every day.

That usually comes down to a few simple things people don’t think about when ordering:
how it fits, how it holds temperature, and how it actually feels to use.

We spend a lot of time helping clients get those details right-because that’s what decides if it gets used… or forgotten.

Ever get shirts for your team or event that felt great at first… then completely changed after one wash?

Shrunk.
Fit got weird.
Colors faded faster than expected.

Now half the group won’t wear them again.

That usually isn’t a printing issue.

It’s the shirt itself — fabric blend, weight, and how it holds up after it’s actually used in the real world.

Most people pick based on how it looks or feels brand new.

We spend more time looking at how it’s going to hold up after a few washes — because that’s when it actually matters.

Conference materials don’t always get much attention until people start using them.

We worked with a group preparing for a multi-day conference where lanyards and tote bags were part of the attendee experience from the moment people checked in.

At first, the focus was just getting something branded and within budget. But as we talked through how they’d be used, a few things became more important.

The lanyards needed to be comfortable enough to wear all day and durable enough to last the full event. The tote bags needed to hold materials, giveaways, and personal items without tearing or losing shape by day two.

Choosing the right materials and production facility made sure both items held up and still looked good throughout the event.

They’re simple items, but they’re used constantly — at registration, in sessions, on the show floor, and walking between events.

When they’re done right, they quietly support the entire conference experience. When they’re not, people notice.

Fun runs and charity walks rarely involve just one item.

It usually starts with T-shirts for participants. Then the list grows. Event flags. Course signs. Registration forms. Sponsor banners. Directional signage. Medals and awards for finishers.

Before long, there are a lot of moving parts that all have to come together for the same event.

The challenge isn’t producing one piece. It’s coordinating everything so it feels like one event — consistent branding, clear signage, and materials that are ready when volunteers and participants arrive.

From participant shirts and event flags to course signage, sponsor banners, registration materials, medals, and awards, every item plays a role in the overall experience.

When everything is prepared and working together, the focus stays where it belongs: on the runners, the supporters, and the cause behind the event.

If you’ve helped organize a run or walk event, what pieces usually end up on the list?

Property managers rarely deal with just one sign.

A monument sign needs updating. Parking signs need replacing. Directional signs, tenant panels, or building identification signs need to be added or refreshed.

Then the list grows. Window graphics. Door graphics. Interior wayfinding. Compliance and safety signage.

The challenge usually isn’t producing one sign.
It’s having a reliable partner who can handle the full range of signage across a property and keep everything consistent.

From monument signs, parking signs, directional signage, tenant panels, and building identification signs to window graphics, door graphics, and interior signs, the goal is the same: keep the property clear, professional, and easy for visitors to navigate.

If you manage a property, what types of signs tend to need attention most often?

Some projects look simple until you start asking how they’ll actually be used.

Recently, we worked on custom printed PVC boards designed to hold pool tile samples for a client’s display system. On the surface, it sounded straightforward: design, print, and deliver.

But the real work wasn’t just the print. The boards needed to be laminated, water-resistant, and durable enough to handle repeated use. They also had to accept contact cement on the front so the tile samples would adhere properly without compromising the surface.

On the back, the hardware had to line up exactly with the customer’s existing display racks. That meant selecting the right hooks, spacing them correctly, and making sure the material thickness supported the weight of the tiles.

Every detail had to align — from artwork layout to structural support — so the boards arrived ready to install without modification.

If something has to survive real-world handling, are you designing for that early in the process?
