If you have been following my personal journey, you know that 2022 was a hard year for me. Not having a mental capacity for creating content consistently, I started neglecting my page - the business I’ve been growing so passionately - and it affected my bank account.
This year, I considered starting a new page even though the thought of it was defeating. I believed my account was dead with no hope of reaching more than 1000 people. I felt discouraged to make any content at all.
On the other hand, there was a silver lining. Being in the season of low engagement gave me time and freedom to redefine my content strategy. Instead of focusing on “hacks” and “tips”, I took a hard look at my page as a whole.
Here is the thing, your personal (and even business) brand is a flowing story. Like a book or a TV show. Your audience must have an idea of who you are as a main character/business owner, what’s your origin story, what motivates you to keep going, where are you even going - every post, reel, frame you share must be a tiny piece of a big picture. I put emphasis on my story and cranked up that transparency level. People want to follow people, buy from people, making your brand human is the best decision you can make for your growth.
Hooks. Oh man, you hear about hooks from everywhere but most of us still use boring, same old hooks (how many “Come with me…” reels have you watched today?). Find a way to say the same thing in a scroll-stopping way. A strong hook will skyrocket the most important metric of your video content: watch time.
And yes, be consistent (but you already knew that).
