Meet our Letterpress Operator, Jeffrey Bomstead!
1. How did you get into the printing industry?
I learned to print in high school, I was kicked out of math class! A friend suggested that I take the printing class my school offered. We had a complete print shop taking projects from sales to delivery and learning every process along the way. I was fortunate to be hired by a small company who were willing to give an opportunity to an inexperienced kid.
2. Describe one of your favorite work memories.
Learning letterpress. I was fascinated by the older machines, the mechanical process, and the unique capabilities along with the projects presented. I enjoy doing a job and possessing a skill that few others have today. The antique machinery is fascinating to me and has given me the opportunity to work with high-profile clients. Including Pearl Jam, Green Day, Metallica, Steve Miller Band, and actress Mindy Kaling.
3. What's one thing on your bucket list?
I plan to travel to Tuscany, Italy and The American Cemetery in Normandy, France.
