Important Security Alert: Emails Impersonating Biondo Creative
I want to make you aware of a scam involving emails impersonating Biondo Creative and me.
We have learned that someone is randomly contacting Biondo Creative clients using Gmail addresses designed to look like they are associated with our company. The emails may use our company name, my name and title, and other information intended to make the message appear legitimate.
Some of these messages have referenced website maintenance, WordPress updates, API renewals, plugins, SEO services, or urgent deadlines in an attempt to get the recipient to respond. We share some examples of what was recently sent below in this message.
These emails are not coming from Biondo Creative and are not legitimate.
Please be especially cautious if you receive an unexpected email claiming to be from us, asking for payment. A few things to keep in mind:
Check the actual email address. Our business emails come from the .com domain. We will not contact you about your account from a Gmail address or another free email service.
Watch for urgency
Be cautious of unexpected deadlines or warnings that your website, domain, API, plugins, or other services need immediate attention.
We will never ask you to purchase gift cards
Biondo Creative will never ask you to buy gift cards, prepaid cards, cryptocurrency, or similar forms of payment and send us the card numbers, redemption codes, or PINs by email or text.
Look closely for misspellings
Scammers often register email addresses or domains that are only one or two letters different from the legitimate address.
Do not send passwords or sensitive information by email.
Biondo Creative will never ask you to email us your password, credit card information, or other sensitive credentials.
Do not click unexpected links or open attachments.
If something doesn't look right, verify the message with us first.
Don't rely on the sender's display name.
An email can display “Biondo Creative” or “Anthony J. Biondo Jr.” while actually coming from an unrelated email address.
When in doubt, contact us directly, hop on a phone or Zoom call with Anthony.
If you receive an email that seems unusual or you're unsure whether a request actually came from Biondo Creative, please do not reply to the message. Contact Anthony directly on his cell phone to let us know and verify the legitimacy of it.
If you have already received one of these messages, please forward it to [email protected] so we can document it. If you responded, clicked a link, provided login information, or made a payment, please contact Anthony as soon as possible.
We take the security and trust of our clients seriously and wanted to make you aware of this activity so you can recognize these messages and protect yourself.
Thank you,
Anthony
