PSA. If you're registering your domain name go with someone reputable like Namecheap.com. Setting up and managing DNS records can be complicated, and often requires help from your provider, and you want one that actually knows what it's talking about and doesn't just fob you off with 'Wait 72 hours then come back to us.'

You might want to avoid Domain.com...

After several months of study I'm pleased to announce I'm now a Certified Digital Marketing Professional.

Although I already had a lot of experience in creating and sharing content, SEO, social media marketing, email marketing, building and optimising websites and using Google Analytics, I learnt a huge amount from the course. These are constantly changing landscapes, and it was immensely helpful to update and expand my digital marketing skills.

I had a little experience with online advertising, and it was here that the course really expanded my skills. The coursework entailed spending hours setting up and optimizing Google PPC and Display ads, as well as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest ads.

I also developed new skills in strategic marketing, and building a digital marketing strategy and program.

I'm looking forward to using my newly updated skills out there in the real digital world!

One of the first websites Werb Digital built was for Sara Sullivan, and we've been working together ever since. Each week Sara creates a recipe in her website, then it's automatically sent out as an email to everyone on her mailing list, via an RSS feed I set up.

Sara has hundreds of amazing healthy recipes on her website - which you can filter by ingredient, meal type, season, etc. She also has recipe ebooks that are available for download.

Recently she's also started running online courses, which we've built in Kajabi - a chance for me to learn a new skill. This site has been a pleasure to build and maintain.

I'm a Certified Nutritionist here to share with you the knowledge you need to reach your health, weight loss and wellness goals. Based in Portland, Maine, I provide support, simple & easy meal plans, cooking classes and recipes that are realistic and enjoyable.

Interesting to see which email marketing tools small businesses are using, and what they're struggling with when it comes to email marketing. I've focused on Mailchimp and Constant Contact so far, but my experience has been that once you've got the hang of one, you can pick up the others pretty quickly.

Did you know that if you accidentally delete an audience from Mailchimp, you cannot restore it unless you have some sort of backup that you've stored away from Mailchimp? This is one of my nightmares, having seen it happen to a good friend. Until now I periodically exported and backed-up audiences as .csv files, but I wanted a better solution, that didn't cost my clients actual hard cash.

I've switched to using Zapier to automatically update a Google sheet each time a new subscriber is added to an audience. It took about 10 minutes to set up and test. Now I can sleep a bit better. Here's the Zap.

This spoke to me! When I was at school/university there was no such thing as digital marketing. My current job did not exist. I've had to learn as I go along, and I've also had to educate many others.

As digital marketers, we work with other people. We need their input, and we report back to them. Thinking carefully about ways to communicate with them, and help them understand what we do, is vital.
