Sometimes it's hard to accept or acknowledge where we are right now—how far we've come. Instead of focusing on the page in front of us, we're already stressing about not finishing the book.
As creative humans, we're always looking toward that time when we “make it.” When the book is published, when the work is hanging in a gallery.
Obviously, having goals is good.
☁️ Dreaming big is important. ☁️
But sometimes that sense of not being far enough, of not having reached the dream, can be a distraction from the reason we make things to begin with.
✨ The small details in the work, the framing of a shot in camera, the wrestling with a line to get the words just right—that's where the reward lies.
If we stay open, if we pay attention, we see that the process is the whole point. (THIS CAN BE SO HARD THOUGH, we know.) If that's the focus, we'll begin to see doors open while others close. If we're patient, and dedicated to the act of creation, we begin to see that opportunities, connections, projects, and direction present themselves to US. ✨
