"Developer Jordan Ilyes presented a redevelopment conceptual plan for the Acme complex in Emigsville. Ilyes specializes redevelopment of historical building redevelopment, like Franklin St. Social, the Keystone Color Works and numerous other old factory complexes that have been saved from the ravages of time and made useful again.
He said Inch & Co. reached out to him about redeveloping the property and purchasing will depend on if he can get all the approvals in order to move the project forward. He would be managing the apartments he builds.
PennDOT is also looking to execute the flyover, in their "10-year plan", connecting Church Road, which would eliminate all the bypass traffic through Emigsville.
There was a previous "town center" concept plan by the township which would include rehabilitation of the Acme Complex that is being revisited.
Numerous residents came to the podium to voice their support.
The reality of the Acme Complex is that it is deteriorating and it either needs to be rehabilitated or it will one day be gone. Ilyes said that experience in his other projects and how people now use their cars to commute and work at home that traffic really isn't as much of an issue as you would think.
If this project can move forward (coinciding with the eventual Church Road to Emig Road flyover/bypass elimination by-pass traffic though Emigsville) it would be a fresh new chapter for Emigsville and a unique spot in Manchester Township"
