What a wonderful and tasty evening at the Carolinas-Virginia Best of NAMA. One of our marketing communications specialist Neha Chhabra joined me as we met old friends and made new ones.

The program was awards for best advertising and PR for agricultural related products and services, with the winners going forward to the nationwide competition of the National Agri-Marketing Association.

It was particularly special to visit with long-time ag communicators Julie Hines Groce and Mary Gordon.

It was held at Atticus in Cary which staged an informative, delicious and entertaining event!

You ask me why a 33-year old advertising, marketing and Public Relations firm would contribute to the back-pack school fund raiser at a small children's home in the village of Middlesex, NC?

For one, because we believe in spending our profits on human caring and needs.

For two, we believe he should start school with the same advantages as other kids.

It's not too late, you can help a child at the Middlesex Children's Home have a better school year.

At R F Timberlake & Company, Inc. sure, we work to make people's lives better, professionally and personally.

So many of us live so well that we forget that there are those who don't have air conditioning in this hot weather, some don't even have fans.

So Linda Timberlake and I took off to a store and filled up the SUV with box fans. Then Calvin Lucas with Wendell's Helping Hand Mission helped us unload the fans and some other donations.

Community spirit is not much good unless you turn that spirit into a helping reality.

Did we solve the problem? No. But we swung a lick at it, locally. That's just who we are at R F Timberlake & Company. Next lick? The Children's Home in Middlesex.

At R F Timberlake & Company, Inc. we take giving back pretty seriously. A lot of that care and giving goes into the eastern Wake County area where we bought our home and offices 38 years ago today.

There are causes like the Food Pantry at church, the Helping Hand Mission in Wendell and the Zebulon Woman's Club which does so much for our community.

But Linda Timberlake and I are especially proud and delighted to once again stand with the Zebulon Police Department in supporting NC Special Olympics.

The other day I had the pleasure of presenting a Special Olympics check to Officer Sarah Carroll of the Zebulon Police Department. Officer Eric Anderson gave me the cool hat to add to my collection. Great work they do too.

We work really hard for our clients and we are rewarded. But we couldn't live with ourselves if we didn't try to help others.

Recently, we have had some family tragedy. There's never a better time to reach out and up and try to make someone else's life a little better.

So when Jane Coley with the Helping Hand Mission called and said she had a number of elderly folks that did not have fans, much less air conditioning, we went into action and took a car load of fans, several different types, for Jane and her crew to distribute.

One feels better about the world when one steps up to help others. We are proud of our reputation for doing just that.

He's rolling again! Martin Brossman at Beaufort County Community College. And he hooked up with associate Jeanne Munoz and they streamed the whole production of a workshop, Buy Now! Ways to Sell Your Products and Services Online and Ramp Up Your Marketing'
It was chocked full of great ideas and information. We're always ramping up!

We're not too much into placing ads into NFL, MLB and the like. When we take our own company money and invest it in our community a win is good but a win-win-win is great!

From the picture, RFTCO President Frank Timberlake is not being arrested, he's presenting a check in support of NC Special Olympics to Zebulon K-9 Officer Jeremy Pulley. Officer Pulley and the other Zebulon Police K-9 Officer Dobson are liaisons to help get financial support for SO T-shirt sales which support the events.

In presenting a support check to Officer Pulley, Timberlake said his firm doesn't want the shirts and requested for the officers to give the shirts to local folks having a tough time or those in need.

At R F Timberlake & Company, Inc. we've been providing award-winning Public Relations and advertising from local to worldwide for over 30 years. And...we try not to just talk the talk...but to walk the walk.

How about give a hand to our canine officers in their effort to help Special Olympics? Everybody needs a new shirt.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family of George Rush of Oxford who passed away December 5th. George had a stellar career with a number of major corporations, after a military stint and receiving his master's from the University of South Carolina. We knew him as GM of WIZS Radio in Henderson, NC, and as the host of Town Talk where we frequently appear to talk about our client, Kerr Lake Park Watch and lake realed news and issues. George was a consummate professional broadcaster, quick with the wit and fact-finding questions. You will be missed, George.
