The Curators Prints Graphic Design / Prints / Posters My name is Verónica Olivera. I have a degree in architecture but I see myself as a crafter first. and early 20th.

In fact, I have been working with my hands since I was a child. At the age of 11 I began selling my products at the weekly street market in my neighbourhood. Later I won a couple of prices (one by the World Crafts Council) and since 2002 I recreate board games from ancient civilizations and sell them once a year at a craft fair in Montevideo. As an architect I love the illustrations. In the last c

ouple of years I developed a passion for 19th. century illustrators of scientific books. There is so much aesthetic value and technical precision in their work. I search antique illustrations from 19th. century books and give them a new opportunity. I intervene the images either by giving a black and white drawing a new color or by selecting only an element from a bigger composition. In my shop you will find antique illustrations with a contemporary look.
