The many faces of “thriving.”

Lest anyone think we walk around looking perpetually polished and put together like the photo in our last post, we’re here with a little peek behind the curtain. THIS RIGHT HERE is why our friendship is so critical to our success. Business ownership can be a rollercoaster! And while we love it so much, THIS. IS. HARD. When business is soft, it’s hard to trust that things will pick up again. It’s hard to stay optimistic through all the layoffs and downsizing news. It’s hard to balance personal family and financial situations through periods of uncertainty.

We know there are lots of talented people out there considering starting a business right now. If you’re planning on partnering up, be sure it’s with someone who you can be 100% yourself with every single day.

✨We founded Three Needs Creative in October 2019 with one client and a dream. We imagined a collaborative, creative, supportive agency, where our ideas would be both challenged and cherished. Where we’d get to work with a creative partner we vibed with, find clients we enjoy and choose projects that felt good to us. We imagined building a business we could be proud of.

✨What we didn’t imagine was how close we’d become as people. You see, we knew one another for only a few months before talking about starting a creative agency together. And within a year, TNC was open for business. Through Covid, through personal losses, through health scares of loved ones—each of us was performing the constant juggle of being a mom, a wife, a sister, a friend, a daughter to aging parents, and a business partner.

✨A creative partnership and a business built on empathy, compassion, and transparency has turned into a more beautiful friendship than we could have ever imagined. And it turns out, that is everything.

Throwing it back to 2010ish when our co-founder, Karen Bedard, waded into the cranberry waters of her first national TV commercial shoot. After months of concepting and more concepting, scripting and rescripting, and a ton of complex production planning, it was time for the ‘two guys in the bog’ to slip into their waders and deliver those lines like only they could. This particular shoot day was so perfectly picturesque, people thought it was shot on a green screen.

We knew when we helped the wade into the controversial Covid 19 vaccine issue, they had to be considerate of many viewpoints, but not apologetic. Our integrated campaign had to be confident, inclusive, encouraging, and unifying. People were ready to move from ‘doom and gloom’ to ‘joy and hope’—and TNC was more than happy to oblige.
