The sloping site lies in the northeast of ‘Tirana East Gate (TEG)’ shopping mall, outside Tirana. In accordance with the urban regulations of the region, the initial mass has been positioned within the required distances from the borders of the site and the main traffic to the north. After opening up the center, the surrounding mass has been separated into two L-shaped buildings. By placing the northern building on higher ground, views open up towards the surrounding area. The tail of the northern building rises slightly on columns to evoke the feeling of floating, freeing the views from the other building. The oasis-like gardens in the center have been carefully arranged as terraces with pedestrian pathways surrounded by trees, where residents can go out for walks and rest quietly away from noise.

Before our proposed interior intervention, the existing space was pretty dark and had too many unnecessary levels. As a central key element forming the identity of the interior, we placed an olive tree inside a terrarium, which rises gently like an irrational crystal-like glass sculpture, drilling the roof and letting daylight in. In order to ease the circulation flow, the floors have been levelled to only one surface. Inspired by the beehive, the hexagon was used as a repeated geometric form on different occasions.

The bamboo plant’s long life has made it a symbol of uprightness. On the other hand, spas and hammams are associated with health and well-being, pureness and cleanness. We have combined these essential pillars with the name of the Tirana-based Spa and Hammam, in order to create a purely minimalistic interior space, which gives a sense of relaxation and hygiene during treatment. The melting of smooth white marble and wood results in clean and warm lines. While massive wood introduces an organic dimension to the space, concrete delivers a sense of stillness. The use of moss and the bamboo-inspired lamps complete the space with a forest-like feel.

Nestled amidst a cluster of tall cypresses and olive trees, located in Palase area of Drymades, Olea’s architectural style and detail come together as the most exclusive residence offering of the south seaside of Albania. The inspiration for the architecture came from the landscape itself and the need to implicit the endless sea views in every home; the beautiful Llogara on the side, and the horizon glittering with the Ionian Sea’s vivid blues. Olea’s clean and modern architectural line is brought to life by the abundant use of natural materials, fully respecting the location’s traditional materials, and the natural colors and elements of the region. It has a striking facade style with rough local stones, and the combination of natural concrete and tropical teak wood; which are all contoured with an elegant line of zinc. The facades are interrupted by rectangular openings with minimal frames, which are positioned to optimize daylight and sea views. The arrangement of the windows also creates a variety of views from the different interior spaces, while at the same time maintaining a degree of privacy. The site has 6 different living spaces, lot sizes and locations, which presents a distinctive living experience for every resident. The whole identity and these highly detailed 3d visualization images, are all created inside our own studio.

The project is located in the city of Passaic, in New Jersey. While researching and brainstorming on different elements of the local hispanic culture and architecture, we had a particular creative spark when met with the Ancient Mayan architecture. Inspired by its form and decorative elements, we designed a modern representative that will serve as a main point for the Passaic community to gather.

Sheper is a community in the Gjirokastër County, in southern Albania. The region’s rich and beautiful nature was an inspiration from the very start. The main idea behind the design was to separate the mass into five individual areas, connected through secondary functional spaces, and spread accordingly to maximize views of the alluring landscape. The combination of stone, copper and wood in the exterior facade, makes the building blend in with its surroundings. Not limited by the walls, the materials continue up on the roof, thereby creating a mixture that reflects the symbiosis of the nearby stones, trees and grass.

This home came together as a really unique color palette of rustic and shabby interior style. The color wheel has been chosen by having in mind the philological effect of colors on our subconscious. Green known for its soothing qualities has been chosen for the entryway because it eases the transition from the outdoors, and combined with the greyish green custom design kitchen and wall panels, give a sense of relaxation and serenity. Like green, brown’s natural roots give a relaxing touch, combined perfectly with the green couch in the living area, where the family gathers and incites conversation. The accent lies upon the orangey yellow armchair, a color which is associated with happiness, creation, and creativity; hence it works great with the plentiful natural light in the room, creating a peaceful environment. Wood and vintage décor, give the right amount of rusticity to this ambient. A special attention has been given to the décor elements, because those are the final touch of coziness in this home. The Desus wallpaper in the beginning of the staircase, gives a special visual impact and attention on both floors.

We were not afraid of a bit of dust and mess, and rolled our sleeves to undergo an extreme makeover for this home in Prishtina. A complete transformation that went from a modest living place into an ultra-contemporary home, with a grand entrance foyer and multiple living areas. Unused spaces that were gathering only spider webs were transformed into duplex areas, and in exchange for an open balcony that was never used, a winter garden has come to be. The place was enlarged by organizing the interior plan from scratch. Old walls were smashed and new ones were built in order to create a beautiful living home, but most importantly, it had to be practical, and with a style that can always be up to date. The living area was changed into a vast open plan, together with the kitchen/dining area. The living area and the kitchen and dining space has as a room divider the minimal metal stairs, with the wooden boxes as a décor; stairs that lead you to the living room’s duplex. The family that lives here, has a very special memory that all of them share together, a ping pong table. Parents have met and fallen in love through ping pong, and both them and their children are ping pong champions. Thus, the main hall that leads you throughout the house, is made to look like a very long ping pong table; a detail that all of them can cherish, and one that makes them all feel like home. All interior products, except the sofas, are uniquely designed for this space by our product design team.

Located inside the “BO Bowling” bowling alley, “BO café and kitchen” comes as a mix of industrial with rustic design, creating a space that appears welcoming and urban. With industrial chairs, exposed white washed bricks, concrete, brass finish wall, and exposed metal pipes that link and hold the metal pendant lights, the interior stretches in to an urban/ industrial vibe while the reclaimed wood coffee bar with the columns, wooden tables, and wooden segments of the floor all add an element of vintage/rustic to the mix.All products, except the chairs, are uniquely designed for this space by our product design team.At its core, an olive tree stretches up and out from the bar table, visually adding a splendid vitality to the entire room.

This project was a proposal for a memorial competition, with the purpose to serve as a reminder of the communist regime in Albania. To serve as a reminder of a part of the past, we came into a conclusion, that the memorial itself should be a bridge. A bridge, where people would walk on their daily routine, and cross into a piece of history. We proposed the bridge to be placed on the Lana river, the main stream that crosses through Tirana, Albania’s capital city. The bridge is constructed by 47 concrete grids, which represent the 47 years of Albania’s harsh prison into the communist regime. From the outside, the grids have a linear form, but from the inside they rotate a little, from which seating areas were created. In the entrance, with huge capital letters it is written: A past, for not to be forgotten. When you get inside the bridge, you will go through the 47 years of prison, and remember the bitter past. But at the same time, the grids play with the beautiful natural light that comes in, which symbolizes hope; the hope that many Albanian people felt during that time. The hope that made it possible for them to cross that bridge today, and remember that time, for it to never happen again.

The interior concept started from the name and logo design itself “Half and Half”. Most of the products are designed to be half of one another. Half colored chair with half wood; half a bench and half a sofa; half painting and half spilled paint, and so on. The Industrial interior design is such a confident style. Simply that this concept is based largely upon the space being honest with its components. The old brick walls gave us the possibility to create that unfinished look, and they work beautiful with a mix of large pieces of art hanging. The rusted metal pendant lights were designed especially for this interior, which with exposed Edison bulbs release a softer lumen, which give the ambient a dimmed warm feel. The industrial chairs, give this space the final touch of industrial design.
