The other day, I stopped working at 2 p.m.
I laid in bed for an hour and stared at the wall.
I cancelled French.
I didn't answer emails.
I didn’t check slack.
I watched a feel-good series (highly recommend Shrinking!)
What's funny is, if you'd looked at my business from the outside this year, you would've assumed everything was going perfectly.
I've landed clients that genuinely felt impossible a year ago.
The kind of client that sat at the very top of my vision board.
The kind that *literally* changes what you believe is possible for yourself.
My business is growing.
My family is healthy.
I live on the most beautiful mediterranean island.
By every measure, I should feel successful.
Instead, I felt completely overwhelmed.
Here’s what I realized:
→ I’ve been trying to fit my dream life into a schedule that only works if I ignore the fact that I'm a human being.
I plan my weeks as if I don't have two kids to watch grow. A puppy to cuddle. Joy, wonder, and love to feel.
As if my ambition is the only thing that matters.
As if living a life I always dreamed about isn't something I'm actually supposed to enjoy.
So here’s your reminder if you need it too:
Ambition is a beautiful thing.
Until it convinces you that nothing you've built is ever enough.
You don't have to earn the life you’ve already built by making every day impossibly hard.
I'm still learning that too. 💖
