Don't JUST write for human readers... You'll miss out BIG TIME!
Here's the deal.
If you're dead serious about providing value to your readers through your content, then write for the search engines, too.
You *need* to do both.
If you write content without applying SEO best practices, chances are your content pieces won't rank well and won't be visible to online searchers who use Google (among other search engines).
You'd have done your audience a HUGE disservice at that point.
They'd have gained so much value from reading your content and their problems would have been solved.
But because you didn't bother optimizing for the search engines, they'll never get the chance to read your content, therefore, they'll continue experiencing their problems.
Make no mistake, writing for search engines *alone* has its obvious downsides.
No one should EVER do this.
However, writing for human readers *alone* and neglecting SEO also brings with it some serious problems; in that most of your readers won't even come across your content.
Do this instead...
Write for your readers.
Ensure your write-ups are: - Clear - Exciting - Actionable - Has a strong level of polish - And truly solve your readers' problems (or at least bring clarity to their situation).
But as you do those, also remember to apply SEO best practices, such as:
- Do keyword/competitor research
- Ensure intent alignment
- Optimize your write-ups for feasible keywords
- Link internally to relevant posts
- Etc.

TL;DR: SEO writing (done right) bolsters the quality and reach of your content. Don't neglect SEO.
