⁨ ⁨ خُيُوطٌ مَقْطُوعَةٌ | Broken Threads

مع مرور الوقت، ترجم النساجون محيطهم إلى سجاد، مستلهمين ذلك من الطبيعة، والأنماط، والقصص التي شكلت تفاصيل حياتهم. أما اليوم، فإن محيطي يبدو مختلفاً تماماً؛ فبصفتي مصممة تعمل بشكل أساسي في المساحات الرقمية وتعيش بعيداً عن وطنها، يتشكل عالمي البصري من الشاشات، والبكسلات، والبرمجيات، والأكواد البرمجية.

يأتي هذا المشروع لينقل هذه المؤثرات المعاصرة إلى الوسيط العريق لصناعة السجاد. هنا، نُعيد قراءة الزخارف التقليدية والإشارات الحِرفية الموروثة من خلال لغة بصرية رقمية، لنخلق جسراً يربط بين الأشكال المكتسبة وتجاربنا الحاضرة. وبدلاً من الاكتفاء بالحفاظ على الماضي كما هو دون تغيير، يواصل هذا العمل غزل خيط ممتد يربط بين الهوية والتراث وبين الحياة المعاصرة.

Over time weavers translated their surroundings into carpets, drawing from the landscapes, patterns, and stories that shaped their lives. My surroundings today are different. As a designer working largely in digital spaces and living far from my homeland, my visual world is shaped by screens, pixels, software, and code.

This project brings these contemporary influences into the ancient medium of carpet weaving. Traditional motifs and ornamental references are reinterpreted through a digital visual language, creating a connection between inherited forms and present-day experiences. Rather than preserving the past unchanged, the work continues an ongoing thread between heritage and contemporary life.
