New work with Rachel!
This time always feels like the beginning. September, the fall, a new school year, a new season. My body clock is tuned this way. It’s always been an exciting time, the beginning of an academic year or the beginning of a new orchestral calendar. My patterns have moved and worked in this flow for most of my adult life.
This September feels different. This beginning is different. My personal world is uncomfortable and unknown. My music world has had to change and adapt and hustle and be sad and be more resilient. My creative juices have felt dormant— that is, until a few days ago: There’s something about the first smell of cool fall air, the first night sleeping with my window wide open. I felt motivated. I feel motivated. So while my performing calendar will look very different than it did this time last year, I am excited to fill it— creatively, resourcefully, new. I’m excited to book your private dinners, your elopements, your last-minute weddings, your little parties, your backyard concerts. In-person music is so important. So moving. So real.
I’m ready to move forward— to be a part of what our music family will do in the season ahead.
Here’s to making music, forever and always!
