When a dear friend of mine reached out in need of branding for her new ballet business, BeautifulFeet Ballet, I was instantly inspired. Because of our long friendship, I had so many thoughts and ideas for creating a brand that reflected her style, her talent, but also her heart. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

When it was all said and done, a vintage, but modern brand was created. I like to call it . . . Little Women meets Ballet. If you live near Prescott, Arizona, you definitely need to check out Jennah’s classes, because not only will you learn to dance, but you’ll be blessed by getting to know such a wonderful person.

It was an unexpected one, but a hiatus nonetheless. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Many who follow this account already know that 2 years ago, my sweet husband, Steven, went home to be with the Lord. It was unexpected and devastating. Naturally, I had to take a step back. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
When I started this little business, Steven was my biggest encourager, and it's his belief in me that spurs me on to keep it going, even if only part time or project by project. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
I am forever changed by Steven's passing, and therefore, graphic design has become a smaller part of my life, but not unconnected to the new ideas and ministry opportunities that God is leading me to explore. As I navigate this life without Steven by my side, I may have a few more unexpected hiatuses in the future. But, I hope to start creating, collaborating, and designing again . . . all while I dare to take steps to start living again. ​​​​​​​​

I recently collaborated with my friend, Amparo Usrey, who is an exceptional Realtor here in Gallup, NM. Opening her own agency, Cedar & Ivy, she wanted a classic, boutique feel for her logo, which I believe matches how personal and dedicated Amparo is with her clients. I couldn't be more pleased with how this one turned out, and even more so because she loved it!

I had a great long weekend traveling with the Hubby all over Southern New Mexico, connecting with our teens at Youth Group, and spending time in Worship + in the Word. After such a fulfilling weekend, I am excited to turn my focus on the rest of this week.

It’s Tuesday, (but really my Monday), so my goal this week is to make the most of each day. For me, that means waking up on time, preparing my projects, and grinding out all my daily tasks.

Of course, making the most of today includes more than just work, and that’s why I am starting to challenge myself to try something new every Tuesday that might bring joy, encourage others, or tap into another avenue of creativity. And, I encourage you to join me!

I have a bunch of beautiful apples, so I’ve decided to try a new Fall recipe. Either homemade apple cider or an apple spice cake … I haven’t decided 😉 So, to help you get started this , here are some ideas:

1) A new recipe
2) Cook with a new ingredient you haven’t used before
3) Blogging
4) Go to a dance class
5) Gardening
6) Go on a hike
7) Journaling
8) Learning a new language
9) Painting
10) Yoga
11) Encourage a friend

BELL 🔔

One of my best friends asked me to design a poster for her that she plans to use to encourage her staff and leaders within her ministry.

I recently sent over the finished product, and I couldn’t help but be inspired by her acronym, BELL. It stands for:

B | be brave
E | expect the best
L | love deeply
L | lead boldly

As creatives, ministry workers, professionals, students or just plain ol’ human beings, what if we intentionally tried to live out these 4 things everyday?! Yes, there is a risk factor in being brave or loving deeply, but how much more purpose and fulfillment would we have knowing we are trying our best?! The greater the risk, the greater the reward!

Thank you Kourtney Maciel Avila for allowing me to work on this project, and for also inspiring me to be more intentional in work, ministry, and in life!

July 1st came and went, but Jackie Yoder Design Co. has officially turned 1!

I’ll be honest, it hasn’t been the easiest year or the most profitable year, but it’s definitely been a year of growth. There’s so much to learn when it comes to starting your own business, and by no means am I an expert, but I can confidently say that I not where I started. And, that’s enough for me. I may not have accomplished all that I wanted in the first year, but I’m celebrating where Jackie Yoder Design Co. is today!

And, I have to give all the glory to the Lord! God has blessed this venture, and opened doors I never could have asked for or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Additionally, much credit goes to my husband: for believing in me + supporting me, to Burchie's: for your friendship + for giving me my first break, as well as to my clients: for your trust + allowing me to work with you!

I’m grateful to all who have followed me, helped me, and encouraged me in Year 1! I’m looking forward to all that’s next in Year 2!

It’s summer time, and on a hot day, there’s nothing better than some shave ice! That’s why I am so excited to share a glimpse of Coco’s Hawaiian Shave Ice rebranding! A bright, surf vibe makes this logo STAND OUT amongst the crowd! I had so much fun designing this one!
