Business growth is a lot like muscle growth.
When you first start working out, it sucks.
You’re expending a tremendous amount of energy yet not lifting very much weight at all.
You get tired, sore, and you wonder if it’s all worth it.
And business is no different.
When you first start, it requires a lot from you.
You pour most of your time, energy, and money into your new project to give it the fuel it needs to get off the ground.
But you don’t see immediate results because you don’t have a big network, market authority, or proven client results.
And when you don’t see immediate results, it’s easy to second-guess yourself and think about whether or not it’s all worth it.
But then, something happens.
You start to see a bit of growth. Your muscles look a little bigger a month after you started working out or you’ve gotten your first paying client.
And a couple months after that, your growth is significantly more noticeable.
It finally starts to feel like all your hard work is beginning to pay off.
You’re lifting heavier in the gym and making more money in your business.
Life is good.
But the thing is, most people give up well before they reach this point.
They quit because it’s hard and they don’t see the results they were expecting soon enough.
But Rome wasn’t built in a day. And neither are great companies.
Amazon didn’t make a profit for its first 4-5 years. And now it’s one of the biggest companies in the world.
The only way to fail is by quitting too soon.
Be persistent, work to master your craft, and be patient for the outcome.
Because one day, exponential growth will come. And it will be life-changing.
But it won't come if you give up on it too soon.
