Are you using hashtags correctly? (If you're not sure, join my group for free training on this!) I see SO many people using hashtags wrong- and I should know because I was one of them for many years!

The most common issues I see:
👉🏼Using huge hashtags
👉🏼Using lots of cutesy or branded hashtags
👉🏼Using hashtags that will reach your competition instead of your ideal clients 🌟How you can utilize hashtags better:
•Research your hashtags first!
•Look at how many tags it has (stay under 500k tags)
•Look at WHO is using the hashtag
•Has the tag been used recently?
•Does your content align with this tag?
•Will you stand out on this tag?

It takes a little bit of time, but researching your tags first will bring you much better reward!

Are you a pen and paper kind of person? Or do you find digital lists more useful?⠀

I go back and forth between the two because I am an avid pen collector and I am also a weirdo who *loves* to practice my handwriting. So while I probably won’t ever give up paper notes and lists entirely, I have tried to cut back in the past few years on my paper addiction for a few reasons:
⠀
•1- Wastes paper and ink that digital notes don’t⠀
•2- Not easy to search and catalog⠀
•3- Not easy to keep organized when you’re a gypsy like me
•4- Not easy to share/copy with others
⠀
So I have a hybrid system that helps me to keep all my notes, tasks, brainstorming, and research together that combines large format index cards, and my digital best friend, Trello.⠀
⠀
I’m always looking for a better way to do this though so tell me what YOU do to keep your notes, to-do lists, papers, bills, etc. organized!⠀

Are you using Instagram stories for your business?

If not, you’re missing out on valuable eyeballs! There are some IG users who only watch stories and don’t scroll the feed at all so make sure you’re making yourself visible there!⠀
⠀
And while you’re creating stories- make good use of your time by maximizing their exposure potential.⠀
⠀
Don’t go overboard, but try and utilize as many of the fun add-ons that are appropriate like: stickers/gifs, questions, polls, mentions, and hashtags to make your stories more likely to be discovered.⠀

🖥Which platform is your website on? What do you like or dislike about it?

This question comes up so often in groups and everyone seems to have an opinion about this, but truly- which platform is best for you and your business?

Each option will have its pros and cons but I’ll breakdown my thoughts on each one to help you make your decision if you’re considering building a site on one of these 3.

Wix in my mind is the least versatile of the options. Mobile design is not built in, requiring you to build a second version of your site that is mobile responsive. I find the templates (and finished web designs) look outdated and lack functionality. You can of course start with Wix and upgrade later, but why build it twice when you can start out with Squarespace or Wordpress

Squarespace has become a go-to favorite for certain projects and is actually what I use now to host three different sites. After years of avowing that Wordpress would be the only platform I’d use, I now use both, but rely more heavily on Squarespace currently. When I design for clients, I find that they have an easier time marinating and updating their sites on Squarespace and you might find this to be the case, too. SS’s built-in templates are visually appealing, contemporary, and thoughtful in their design so if you don’t have a ‘design eye’ you can build yourself something beautiful, and quickly. In one of my offerings, we build a Squarespace website side by side in only 1 day. That’s how simple this platform is!

Wordpress (.org not to be confused with .com) is a self-hosted solution that gives you the most flexibility in the long run. With plug-ins to complete just about any thing you’d like your website to do and an added tool like Elementor Pro (which allows you to create designs, even if you don’t know code) the sky is the limit with WP. It also has a steeper learning curve to get started than Squarespace, but if you’re already technically inclined, you will likely pick it up quickly.

I’m genuinely curious because each of us has our own process and pace but I’ve found over the past year, that regardless of your typical speed- one thing can help all of us create more content quickly. ⠀

🙌🏼Brainstorming. ⠀
⠀
Because content shouldn’t be created in a vacuum. You need fresh topics. You need new perspectives. You need to overcome burnout and routine. You need a breakthrough.⠀
⠀
✔️But mostly, you need to get this done so you can move onto other parts of your business.⠀
⠀

How do you feel about co-working spaces?⠀
⠀
Honestly, one of the reasons I wanted to work as a freelancer was so that I wouldn’t have to work with others, but 4 years into my business, I’m beginning to rethink this because is really a thing.⠀
⠀
I have also recently been inspired by some very creative interpretations to coworking spaces in my city. Places like and are offering amazing spaces with nurturing community offerings and have piqued my interest in giving a try!

Because I travel so much, I am starting to gather a list of unique, locally-owned, U.S. co-working spaces that I can check out as I move around so please send me your suggestions in the comments below!

Do you need to get organized?
