Integers aren't as confusing as they seem — you just need TWO different tricks. 🧠✨
🔢 For MULTIPLICATION (and division) — Friend/Enemy Rule
🙂 = Friend (+) | 😈 = Enemy (−)
✅ Friend × Friend = Friend → (+)(+) = +
✅ Enemy × Enemy = Friend → (−)(−) = +
❌ Friend × Enemy = Enemy → (+)(−) = −
❌ Enemy × Friend = Enemy → (−)(+) = −
➕ For ADDITION — The Bigger Number Wins
Same signs? Just add and keep the sign.
👉 (+7) + (+3) = +10
👉 (−7) + (−3) = −10
Different signs? Subtract the smaller from the bigger — and the sign of the bigger number wins.
👉 (−7) + (+3) = −4 (7 is bigger, so answer is negative)
👉 (+7) + (−3) = +4 (7 is bigger, so answer is positive)
