When you own your business (whether just starting or been at it for a while now) its sometimes hard to accept that you can't do ALL the things. Especially when our Instagram feeds are constantly telling us that everyone else seems to have it together. Reality is -- no one really has it all together. Social media is just a snapshot of what someone decides to share. Sometimes we see how a solopreneur running multiple businesses, getting all the work done, managing a podcast, creating amazing content -- and still have time to bake all the sourdough. 😆 The reality is when you see someone that is doing all the things they will tell you that it's only possible because they have their team.

Lately I've been learning that it's ok to not be able to do ALL the things and that calling in backup is ok. For a while now Nick has been learning how to setup and develop on WordPress -- and I've been learning how to let got a bit. Nick now is the official "Web Support" guy and has been managing our WordPress Maintenance clients for a while now. And to make it extra official he even has his own JDS email!

Plus he's been working on other "behind the scene" things that then allow me to focus more on other tasks and provide quicker turnaround for clients. Now if only I can convince him to do all the bookkeeping? 😂

Hey! I’m on a podcast! ✨

Pushing myself out of my comfort zone and saying yes to podcast interviews. Earlier this month Kayla of Maplewild Marketing & Consulting invited me for a fun interview. As awkward as I am when my voice is being recorded I jumped to this opportunity. The episode is live over on "More Coffee. Less. Drama." (best name ever!) Podcast if you want to listen. We chatted about the importance of having your own website for your business, blog, or hobby. 💜

Listen to the Episode:

I am so excited to be able to introduce Melissa Bandera of Jelly Design Studio. We’ve worked together multiple times building websites for my clients, and I just love not only her eye for design, but her heart for small business owners. Before we get into today’s episode, I want to just do a qui...

I’ve been working with Jen of Spark Studios for YEARS. It's crazy that she was one of my first clients and how much both of our styles and work has changed. And that is the best part of my job -- I get to work along with so many small business owners who have dreams and work hard to make those dreams happen.

Jen’s latest add-on to her gorgeous studio was this curated collection of stunning dresses for her clients to rent. With that idea, The Wardrobe website was born and I’m slightly ✨obsessed✨ with every piece in the collection.

Dream big, work hard, and find people that can help you bring your vision to life. 💜

Happy Monday! I always like to start the week off with a fresh new to-do list while enjoying my morning coffee. This week I have some fun design projects for clients. I also have the not-so-fun task of pulling all my income and expense reports so our taxes can get started on. Definitely not the highlight of the week but an important part of running a business. 😆

How do you like to start off your week? 💜

Also, how cute is my new mug from The Bookish Box?

Whenever I get a sweet client review I will always get super emotional about it. I put all my love and attention to every project, so these reviews are a great reminder that I must be doing something right. This sweet review from Lolaandrosa always brings a smile to my face. 😊

Working on some fun projects for clients and also brainstorming some ways to create some fun content for the JDS blog. For a while now I’ve been wanting to share more WordPress and Shopify resources for small businesses and bloggers but still brainstorming what exactly to share. Thinking a few tutorials regarding hosting, making updates on WordPress, and other simple tasks that clients always ask me about. Would love some ideas if you have any! 💜

New Website Launch! 💻

So excited to share the new website for Ayesha, owner of The Latching Place! Loved working together with Ayesha to create a beautiful website along with her branding. The blue and coral color scheme for The Latching Place is my current obsession.

The Alcazar. This has been my second book of the year and it was MAGICAL ✨ I love the world building and the characters were all so lovable. I do feel that the ending was a bit rushed -- but it might feel that way because I wanted more story.

This year I am trying to find little moments throughout the week to enjoy some reading time. Last year I was really bad about it. Lately I’ve been starting my morning with 2-3 chapters.📚 It’s been a nice way to ease into the morning and I’ve noticed once I get to work I feel so refreshed and ready to get things done. What is a morning routine that you enjoy each day?

Happy Friday! 🎉 I’m always late when it comes to sharing projects that I work on -- so here is another one from mid-last year. 😆 I was (and still am!) so happy with how the new redesigned website for Debbie Reichert Fitness & Yoga came together! One of the main focuses for this project was integrating Mindbody so that it would be easy for new and current members to sign up for upcoming classes and their packages. Love how seamlessly it all connects and love the final product. A gorgeous website that is also user-friendly!

Happy Monday friends! Working on some fun things and excited to turn this messy sketch into a fun new design for a new client that I am working with. And yes, I always start each project with a really messy sketch. I actually bought a tablet recently so I could draw them out on there BUT there is just something about getting a pen (or marker in this case) and some scrap paper that really inspires me. 💜

Who else out there enjoys sketching/writing things out on paper before creating anything?

I got to work with Jenn, owner of Tidal Salt Co, to redesign her website just before the holiday craze hit. Jenn makes these gorgeous custom ✨ and very glittery ✨ tumblers and mugs. I love how we got to incorporate plenty of sparkle within her new design and updated her logo. This website was designed and developed using .
