About the Workshop: During the Girls Voices Facilitator training, you will learn how to create your own media, and how to lead media workshops with young people. Teams of educators two girl, aged thirteen to eighteen will be selected to participate in the workshop, and will become eligible to apply to become a Girls’ Voices Partner. The workshop will be fun, engaging, creative, and supportive.
Award winning filmmakers, editors and educators from Uganda and the United States will be sharing their skills in an intensive storytelling workshop to help empower more Ugandan girls to “tell their stories and shape their tomorrows.”
About Girls’ Voices: Girls’ Voices ignites girls’ power with digital media storytelling. We inspire girls who face obstacles to their education to create media about their lives, cultivating technology and creative skills critical to their future success. Our parent organization, GreaterGood.org, shares their videos to a micro-donor network, inspiring donors to contribute to their education. After three years, 700 girls from twenty countries have participated, creating short documentaries describing the realities, resilience, and potential of this next generation of girls. Our goal is to inspire thousands of girls to leverage the power of digital media, equipping a generation of young women with the communication skills, self-confidence, and education they need to become the leaders of tomorrow.
