ANTI-CYBER CRIME GROUP ISSUES WARNING OVER SURGE IN “TASK SCAM” INCIDENTS

Camp Crame, Quezon City, September 4, 2023 – In recent months, the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) has observed a surge in fraudulent online job offers, known as the "Task Scam," targeting job seekers who are looking for an alternative source of income through social media platforms.

For malicious messages, lodge reports to the NBI Anti-Fraud Division at (02) 8525-4093 or e-mail at [email protected]. You may also send a message through the NBI's website at www.nbi.gov.ph or their official Facebook account. You may also report these incidents to the PNP Anti-Crime Group (PNP-ACG) through www.pnpacg.ph or hotline number at (02) 8723-0401 local 5313.

It has come to our attention that unscrupulous entities are using our company name and logo to scam people on Viber, Telegram, WhatsApp, and other messaging platforms. May it be known to the public that Digital Guacamole or Digital Guacamole TV will not randomly message people offering a job or asking anyone to do a task in exchange for money "as investment." Please be warned and report any suspected "scam" involving our name to the authorities.
