Kinda cringe until it works… 🥲

And I have to remind myself that none of this happened overnight.

This carousel is a collection of some of my favorite wins from the last 4 years. The views, the followers, the kind messages, the sales, the brand opportunities, the events, the moments where I’ve thought, “wait… is this actually my life?”

But before any of that, there was a LOT of cringe.

Filming myself felt awkward. Putting myself out there was terrifying. Being vulnerable online gave me anxiety. Posting when barely anyone was watching felt embarrassing. Trying new things where people could publicly watch me fail was uncomfortable.

And I did it anyway.

I’ve spent the last four years posting almost every day, testing things, changing direction, learning, failing, starting over and working my butt off to build what I have now. And I’m still figuring it out.

This year especially has had plenty of downs mixed in with the wins. There are still posts that flop, ideas that don’t work, slow seasons, self doubt and moments where I wonder what the heck I’m doing.

So this isn’t a “look how perfect everything turned out” post. It’s more of a reminder that we all have to start somewhere.

Your first video might be awkward.
Your first post might get 12 likes.
Your first offer might not sell.
You might cringe at yourself a little.

Post it anyway.

One day you might look back and realize the things you were embarrassed to do were the exact things that got you where you wanted to go. 🤍

And don’t worry… I’ll be sharing some of my fails from this year too because there have been PLENTY. 😂

If you’re just starting out YOU GOT THIS. If you’ve been doing it for a while KEEP GOING!

And if you ever want to chat with me 1:1 for some advice, strategy, or just help figuring out your next move, you can book a coaching call with me through the link in my bio 🤍

What even IS the creator economy? 👀

Because it is becoming a LOT bigger than the traditional idea of an influencer posting .

The creator economy now includes influencers, UGC creators, business owners, founders, freelancers, educators, experts, affiliate marketers, and people using content to build an audience, land partnerships, sell products or services, and create new income streams.

And there is a LOT of money moving into this space.

Brands are increasing creator budgets, platforms like YouTube and Pinterest are building tools specifically around brand partnerships and monetization, and creators have more ways to make money from their content than ever before.

And this is the part I find most interesting: you do not have to be a traditional “influencer” like Alix Earle to be part of it anymore.

Business owners are becoming creators. Experts are landing brand deals. Social media managers are building audiences. Founders are creating content and monetizing. UGC creators are working with major brands without needing huge followings.

I’ve watched that definition change throughout my own career too. I started as a micro-influencer back in 2017 while working a 9–5, eventually became a full-time business owner and social media manager, and now I’m leaning more and more into creator work, partnerships, and monetization alongside everything else I do. 📲

I think this is going to get even bigger in 2027 as platforms roll out more creator tools and brands continue putting more money into creators, UGC, partnerships, affiliate content, and social-first creative.

Do you consider yourself part of the creator economy yet, or does calling yourself a “creator” still feel weird?

And what do you want me to talk about more next: getting brand deals, pricing collaborations, pitching brands, media kits, UGC, monetization, or creator income? Comment below and tell me. 👩🏻‍💻⤵️

Trends or no trends? A lot or a little? Force it or skip it?

My answer: yes to trends, but not as your whole strategy.

Some trends are easy to adapt and make sense for your brand. Some feel completely random and forced. You do not have to participate in every single thing just because it is popular.

And honestly, trend cycles are moving SO fast right now that something can go from fun to overdone almost overnight.

Whimsymaxxing is a perfect example. Bedazzling everything was everywhere for a minute, then suddenly people were calling it landfillmaxxing and criticizing the waste and overconsumption behind it.

Same with things like flop core. I actually like the idea behind sharing mistakes, low views, failed launches, rejections, and things that did not go perfectly. But that does not mean every brand suddenly needs to turn their feed into a highlight reel of failures either.

The question is not just “Is this trend popular?”

It is: Does it fit my brand? Does it make sense for my audience? Can I make it my own? Do I actually want to post it?

If yes, go for it.
If not, skip it.

Your strategy should still have evergreen content, education, personal brand, storytelling, seasonal content, social proof, offers, and whatever actually helps people understand who you are and why they should care.

If keeping up with trends and figuring out what is actually worth posting feels exhausting, that is exactly what I help with inside the Stop Winging It Club.

I share weekly trends, updates, content ideas, what is working right now, and live calls where you can ask me questions like this directly.

You can try it free for 7 days, then it is $17/month if you want to stay.

Remember: Black Friday comes earlier and earlier every year. 👀

So yes, I know it’s only September, but if Black Friday or holiday sales are part of your Q4 plans, you should already be planning them... or at least starting now.

Because the businesses that do well during the holiday season usually are not throwing together an offer the night before Black Friday. They have already thought through the promo, the content, the customer journey, the emails, the link-in-bio, and what they actually want people to buy.

A few things I would be working on now:

✅ Decide your Black Friday offer and how long it will run
✅ Clean up your link-in-bio and make sure the path to buy is obvious
✅ Refresh your profile, pinned posts, and highlights
✅ Create or update your email flows
✅ Batch your holiday content before things get chaotic
✅ Make sure your visuals, offers, emails, and website all feel connected
✅ Start warming up your audience before you start selling
✅ TEST EVERYTHING before the big day

And remember, your Black Friday and holiday content should not be built around one lazy sale.

You really need to zoom out and think about the full strategy: how your content connects to your products or services, how your offers fit what your audience actually wants, how your emails support the sale, what people see before they buy, and what happens after they click.

Just posting “15% off” over and over is not a strategy. 😭

Your content should build trust, answer questions, show the value of what you sell, create urgency where it makes sense, and make the entire path from seeing your post to making a purchase feel seamless.

And please do not wait until Black Friday week to do all of this.

At the very least, save this carousel and come back to it when you start planning.

And if you want to sit down with me 1:1 and map out your Black Friday strategy, offers, content, and sales plan, comment VIP and I’ll send you the details.

All the social media updates you missed this week 👀

It has been a BIG week for platform announcements.

Meta Connect happened. Made on YouTube happened. Pinterest Presents was last week. And every platform is basically showing us what they are building, testing, and prioritizing going into the end of the year and 2027.

A few of the biggest updates:

👓 Meta Connect: Meta is pushing even further into AI + wearables with Muse coming to Meta glasses, the new Muse Charm, more Meta glasses styles, VR updates, and more.

🎥 Made on YouTube: YouTube announced video A/B testing, more creator tools inside Studio, help with pitches and media kits, Custom Feeds, more Live features, AI editing tools, and more.

📌 Pinterest Presents: Pinterest is now calling itself a performance platform, with even more focus on AI, visual search, shopping, creator tools, and helping people go from inspiration to action.

And I’m sure this is not the end of it.

As we get closer to the end of the year, I would expect even more announcements from Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, TikTok, and other platforms as they start showing us what they are planning for next year.

The biggest thing I always remind people: you do NOT need to immediately change your entire strategy every time a new feature gets announced.

Pay attention to the bigger direction the platforms are moving in, then decide what is actually relevant to you, your audience, and your business.

Want me to keep up with all of this so you don’t have to? 😂

Things I DON’T regret subscribing to as a social media manager + content creator 👩🏻‍💻

👉 Canva Pro: probably my most-used tool for graphics, client content, calendars, documents, resources... basically everything.

👉 Stan Store Creator Pro: where I sell my digital products and services, host my link in bio, and run my DM automations.

👉 Swarm: where I host my Stop Winging It Club, share exclusive content and resources, chat with members, and host our live calls.

👉 Meta Verified + Instagram Plus: I mainly keep Meta Verified for the added account protection and support, and I’m currently testing Instagram Plus to decide if it’s worth keeping.

👉 Flodesk: what I use for my newsletters, email marketing, freebies, and staying connected with my audience outside of social media.

👉 Squarespace: my website + domain. Super easy for me to update whenever my services, offers, or business changes.

👉 CapCut Pro + Storage: I edit A LOT of video, so this one is essential. The extra cloud storage is also saving my phone from the 500+ GB of content I have 😅

👉 Dubsado: my CRM for client proposals, contracts, and making the onboarding process much more organized.

👉 iCloud+ Storage: because being a content creator means having an absolutely ridiculous amount of photos, videos, and files.

Altogether, these come out to about $356.95/month based on what I’m currently paying.

YES, I know that is a lot of subscriptions 😂

This isn’t even every subscription I pay for!

But I’m also a business owner AND content creator, so these tools help me sell, create content, manage clients, run my community, communicate with my audience, and keep everything organized.

That does not mean you need all of these!

What makes sense for my business might be completely unnecessary for yours. Use the tools that actually solve a problem for you and fit your budget.

And of course, pricing and plans can change, so these are the prices I’m personally paying right now.

What’s one subscription you pay for that you have ZERO regrets about? 👀👇

I’m sure we can all relate when I say… not every piece of advice is going to age well. 😂

We all make mistakes, change our minds, take different paths, and figure out what actually works for us along the way.

Social media wasn’t even something I could have imagined turning into a career when I was growing up, and now I’ve been working in this industry for almost a decade. Like… how crazy is that?!

I’m really glad I stayed open to changing direction, trying new things, and building a career that made sense for me instead of forcing myself into what I thought success was “supposed” to look like.

And if you ever want to chat 1:1 about your own social media, business, offers, pricing, or what direction makes sense for you, I’d love to.

Lately I’ve been feeling a little down about my analytics, my performance, and just business in general.

It’s really easy to look at a month where the numbers are lower, a post that doesn’t perform the way you hoped, or an opportunity that doesn’t work out and immediately feel like something is wrong.

But I’ve had to remind myself that this is also part of it.

Even though I’ve been feeling down lately, I also have to zoom out and remember how much I’ve already accomplished this year. One slower season does not erase the growth, the opportunities, the work, the lessons, or everything I’ve built up to this point.

I think social media makes it really easy to feel like success is supposed to look consistent all the time, but real life and real business just do not work like that.

A reminder for me just as much as it is for you:

This is okay. And this is also okay.

A post getting 100K views is okay.
A post getting 6K views is also okay.

Making more money one month is okay.
Having a slower month is also okay.

Getting an exciting brand deal is okay.
Getting lowballed and having to say no is also okay.

Growing quickly is okay.
Feeling like things have slowed down is also okay.

I think sometimes we get so used to sharing the wins that we forget the other side is part of building something too.

There are highs, lows, flops, wins, quiet seasons, exciting seasons, and a lot of moments in between where you’re just trying to figure out what’s next.

No success comes without failures, slower periods, things not going exactly how you planned, or moments where you question what you’re doing.

So this carousel is honestly a reminder for me too: not everything is going to be perfect all the time, and that does not mean I’m failing.

Sometimes business is slow. Sometimes social media is down. Sometimes the numbers dip.

And sometimes you just need to look back at how far you’ve already come before convincing yourself you’re behind.

Can you relate? Comment down below if you have ever struggled with vanity metrics or slow seasons. 💬
