Scope creep can be defined as any unexpected changes or additions to after its beginning.
This often occurs when the client gets a new idea or would like to add something new to the project. It could also occur because you didn’t define the project as clearly as you should have. As it’s our responsibility to make things as easy as possible for our clients, and here’s how you can do so 😊:
• Define the purpose of the project upfront, and ask a lot of questions.
• Create a clear scope of work and incorporate it into your initial proposal and contract.
• Explain the concept of scope creep to all new clients- Additional ideas will add additional costs.
• You might not want to avoid scope creep. After all an increase in scope = an increase in price.
While scope creep can be something that is difficult to deal with, it’s not something that you necessarily want to prevent. An increase in scope means an increase in price. Just be sure to include this into your proposal and guide the client along the way 😃
