As we journey on we register our achievement of establishing a Farmer's Market in Alexandra where Shop2shop sponsored the landscaping and we transformed a scrap yard to a Farmer's Market . The Farmer’s Market Yethu ‘s experience is a texture of the authentic highlights of 1912 and a morden Alexandra Township at plot ERF 58 covering the yard of Mdaweni where broken Trucks wait for the mechanic since 1968,here where tools have gone rusty and memories of Mdaweni are left under the Mulberry trees,the days when Alexandra became hometown of Men and women of World Mark , Nelson Mandela, Gcina Mphlophe , Hugh Masekela ,Graca Macel and Mdaweni too who was a prophet,a mechanic and an activist who contributed immensely to Alex during the struggle period where he not only was involved in burials of those who died during the Alexandra Massacre but also promoted healing through water,herbs and simple cooking of African tasty yet healthy dishes for longevity , disease control and to build strong body. Our history is told through cultural kitchen ,a fuse of Basotho and Batswana traditional food cusine and Township music on Trucks.

Refilwe Pieterse Foundation represents at the 2024 Meetings Africa to take place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 26-28 February. Recognised by the Gauteng Tourism RP Foundation will join Meetings Africa which shows Africa’s diverse offering of services and products where African associations and African meetings industry professionals can partner to help transform our continent. This year's shows attracted more than 350 exhibitors, 350 buyers ,multiple members of local and international media and a gathering of over 3000 delegates .The international buyers are drawn from 51 countries including some key source markets such as USA, India, Kenya, the UK, Germany, Brazil, Poland, Russia and Singapore. South Africa has been successful in securing 16 bids (meetings, incentives and conferences) for the 2023/24 financial year, which is great news for the economy.

The Jukskei River is one of the largest rivers in Johannesburg ,The river is a source of drinking water as well as a natural space in which the children of the Alexandra play. Unfortunately, the river holds serious sewage pollution ,a high concentration of raw sewage and E. coli,due to aging infrastructure, a backlog of maintenance repairs, and local dumping. Up until now, the river has been dismissed as one beyond care, but Alex Water Warriors steered by Paul Maluleke are pioneering a project aimed at healing and restoration of Juskei by cleaning the river .Paul will join us on the Farmer's Market Yethu whatsupp group chat to share their journey of healing the river.This is happening on 22 February at 7:30 .Please stay tuned.
