YOUTH DAY 2026
The Weight of 16 June🇿🇦June 16, 1976 wasn’t about stone-throwing.
It was about refusal.
Refusal to be silent when your future is being written without you.Refusal to shrink when the world says “wait your turn”.Refusal to believe that your age makes your voice small.They were younger than us. Less resources. More fear.
But they carried something heavier than bullets conviction 50 years later, the guns are quieter… but the battles changed.
Now we fight unemployment with resumes.We fight apathy with ideas. We fight despair with purpose.We fight
So this Youth Day, don’t just post a flag.
Post a promise.
Promise to use your voice before someone else speaks for you. Promise to build before you break Promise to remember that 1976 started with students who believed they mattered.
You matter. Your ideas matter. Your (someday) starts today.
The future isn’t waiting for you to grow up.
It’s waiting for you to show up.

Dear Contestants & Parents,

We have made the tough but necessary decision to *postpone Mr & Miss Youth Pheli 2026* from *6 June 2026* to *29 August 2026*.

*Reason*: While we have incredible young people who’ve entered, we don’t yet have enough contestants to create the impactful, which affected our yearly preparation routine
