NOTICE OF UPLIFTING OF SHUTDOWN
TO: ALL TAXI OPERATORS AND THE COMMUTING PUBLIC MANGAUNG METRO

Lifting of the Shutdown Action by Taxi Operators in Mangaung
The South African National Civic Organisation [SANCO] Mangaung Region, in consultation with taxi industry leadership and the Mangaung Metro Municipality, hereby gives notice that the shutdown action by taxi operators is uplifted with immediate effect :
Following engagements held on [26-May-2026], the following commitments have been made:
1. The Municipality undertakes to audit and publish an updated taxi register within 14 days.
2. A joint task team comprising SANCO, taxi associations, and municipal officials will be established to monitor permit processing and compliance.
3. Law enforcement will resume normal operations against all non-compliant operators, without discrimination.
Directive from Botshabelo Taxi Local Operators :
All taxi operators are directed to resume normal operations from [27 May 2026]. Any further disruptions outside of legal and agreed processes will not be sanctioned by SANCO Mangaung.
We thank commuters and the public for their patience and urge all parties to work within the law to resolve outstanding issues.
