New Beginnings Animal Rescue has issued an urgent public appeal after revealing that the organisation has reached what it describes as a breaking point following 12 years of animal welfare work.
In a statement released this week, the rescue organisation said its financial resources have been exhausted, leaving it unable to pay staff salaries, veterinary accounts, purchase animal food and medication, or fuel vehicles used to respond to emergencies. Despite years of fundraising efforts through auctions, competitions, markets, events and donation drives, the organisation says it can no longer continue operating under current conditions.
As a result, New Beginnings has announced the immediate suspension of several services, including emergency responses, township call-outs and the intake of new animals. The organisation said the decision was made with heavy hearts, describing it as the first time in more than a decade that it has been unable to assist animals in need.
The shelter is now appealing to the public, businesses and potential sponsors for urgent assistance. In addition to financial contributions, the organisation is requesting support through pet food donations, veterinary assistance, sponsorships, fundraising initiatives and animal adoptions. Representatives said every adoption helps ease pressure on the shelter while providing a permanent home for an animal in need.
According to the organisation, the coming days will be critical in determining whether New Beginnings can continue its work. Supporters are being encouraged to share the appeal, donate where possible and help connect the shelter with individuals or businesses able to provide assistance.
Donations can be made directly to New Beginnings through its banking details or online donation platform.
