I recently built a landing page website for a client that generated him 100k in sales in less than 40 days. 💰💸
My client needed a website for his social media presence/followers. The site needs to accept membership payments and redirect the new paying members to their portal. The client did have specific requirements on what they wanted on the site, but I also had to advise and give my expert opinion on what should stay where and how. Long story short, these are all the things that matter in a high-converting Website that I have learnt in the past 9 years of web design and development:👇👇👇
1. Your Website has to load fast!!! At least there should be a maximum of 3 seconds of load time on desktop and 2 seconds max for mobile. If your website is big and needs heavy backend work, this is where you need a skilled and experienced designer and developer to assist you with this.
2. Show the problem > Solution > End Result > Then Sell. People know they need something, but they don't want to be sold. 😂 Sounds crazy, I know, but I can tell you now, I'm the same😂. It's just being human, so when someone lands on your site. Don't spend time putting fancy words to sell. The first 3 - 5 seconds of what they see is very important. It can chase them away or keep them engaging.
3. CTA (Call To Action) Buttons. There is a psychological trick I learnt over the years for website design psychology, and it goes like this: Every section of your website has to end with a CTA. Especially if you are selling something! Imagine someone scrolling on your site, and they see perfumes at first, and the content keeps them engaging, and they scroll further down until they reach the footer of your website without having 1 CTA button. You have lost!❌ If you had CTA buttons after each section, they would click on that button and be directed to complete the sale. Our human brains are designed to feel good, and we feel good by just imagining! Literally! So when someone is imagining using your product or service, remind them to take action with a CTA button before they forget and leave and find a site that has all that.
4. Yes, Color psychology is everything! Humans associate color with emotion. Imagine selling flowers for Valentine's Day and your site looks brown. Does't work.
❤️ Red = Excitement, Strength, Love, Energy, e.g., Netflix
💚 Green = Nature, Healing, Freshness, Quality, e.g., Rolex
🤍 White = Clean, Simplicity, Innocence, Honesty, e.g, Apple
And more.....
5. Use visual videos and images! It's 2025! People I used to watch something every single 15 minutes on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube. Don't be lazy! Create that video and speak, or hire someone to! and don't sell, rather educate!
6. Keep it short and sweet and straight to the point. People's attention span is short now, so take advantage of bold texts with short paragraph descriptions.
7. Make sure your site is mobile and tablet responsive.
My post is too long, pt2 coming soon...Thoughts?
