Bush Radio 89.5 FM's CREW has empowered young voices aged 6–18 through hands-on media training for 3 decades, proving community radio is more than broadcasting; it’s education, empowerment, and opportunity.

It is split into 3 programmes, guiding the youth from concept creation to production, engineering, and on-air hosting while building skills that go far beyond radio.

🎙 Minions – where young broadcasters begin
🎙 Cape Town Kids – young voices from the Mother City
🎙 CREW Expression – teens exploring real stories and issues

Catch CREW Expression radio dramas:
📻 Saturdays | 09h00 – 12h00
📻 Weekdays on Morning Cruise | 09h00 – 12h00

Because when communities invest in young voices, they shape the future.

Just like live sports and breaking news, South Africans tune in live because they don’t want to miss what matters right now.

From traffic and local news to competitions and community debates, listeners stay locked in because what’s on air directly impacts their daily lives.

For brands, that means reaching an audience that isn’t just listening. They’re actively connected.

Don't miss the first World Cup, where watching is no longer linear.

It’s not TV with digital on the side.
It’s TV inside digital.
Digital inside culture.
Culture happening in real time.

No moment is confined to a single screen. It’s experienced where audiences actually are.

The second screen era isn’t coming. It’s here, and brands that win are the ones that show up inside the moment, not around it.

Jason Vanporppal’s skateboard journey from Uganda to Cape Town to help build a skatepark for Ugandan youth was more than a challenge... it became a celebration of African connection, resilience, and positivity.

From town to town, South Africans rallied behind him, showcasing the energy, kindness, and unity that defines Mzansi to the world 🇿🇦

Stories like these remind us the power of unity and the impact of people coming together for something bigger than themselves.

What started as a helping hand during Cape Town’s storm quickly became life-changing for Sidney Miller, after he shared his story of disability and financial challenges with Chad Nathan while being assisted in navigating his wheelchair along Sea Point Promenade through heavy rain and strong winds.

The power of a single social media post from Chad (The Ginger With a GoPro) capturing Sidney’s story has since sparked over R400,000 in donations from South Africans and people around the world, along with meaningful brand support.

From being overlooked to being surrounded by care from strangers, Sidney’s journey is a reminder of what happens when Mzansi shows up for one another.

If you wish to further support Sidney, you can donate to Chad’s Raising Hope South Africa initiative here: https://buff.ly/ibzzQhz
