Meet the Bonamelo Melisizwe Foundation — a finalist in the Best Rising NGO category of the 2026 CSI Legacy Awards.
In just three years, the Foundation has impacted nearly 15,000 people across township and informal settlement communities through youth empowerment and poverty-relief initiatives. Founded by Bonamelo Moloi, an award-winning youth development advocate and Brand South Africa Play Your Part Ambassador, the organisation is driven by lived experience, compassion, and purpose-led leadership.
Its flagship programme, Melisizwe Coders, is closing the digital divide by offering free digital skills training, mentorship, and personal development — creating pathways to education, entrepreneurship, and employment for young people where opportunity is scarce.
Rooted in community and built on service, the Bonamelo Melisizwe Foundation is restoring dignity and opening doors for the next generation.
