The issue of Xenophobia in South Africa.

I believe we need to take an objective approach to the immigration issue. It is true that what is currently happening in South Africa is often not simply xenophobia, but what many describe as Afrophobia, fellow Africans are frequently the primary targets.

Many low-income South Africans are feeling increasing economic pressure. However, the responsibility should not rest solely on South Africa. Some of the blame must also be attributed to African leaders who have failed to create opportunities and improve living conditions in their own countries.

As a result, South Africa is bearing the burden of a growing influx of migrants seeking better economic opportunities.
Many low-income workers, such as domestic workers, petrol attendants, and others, feel threatened by the perception that employers are increasingly hiring immigrants who are willing to work for lower wages.

On the other hand, it is important to remember that many immigrants are simply seeking a better life for themselves and their families. Therefore, the issue is complex and requires balanced, practical solutions that address both the concerns of South African citizens and the dignity and rights of migrants.

African leaders have failed their people. After all, no one leaves their homeland and moves to another country for no reason. In most cases, people migrate because of economic hardship and a lack of opportunities. As a result, South Africa is now carrying much of the burden of increased migration.

At the same time, South Africa is also benefiting from immigration. Many migrants bring scarce skills, multilingual abilities that support international businesses, entrepreneurial expertise, and investment. They open businesses, create jobs for South Africans, and contribute significantly through taxes. These skills and contributions help strengthen and grow the economy.

However, we should not ignore the reality that low-income South Africans are often the ones who feel the greatest pressure. They must compete with other migrants for lower-paying jobs, which can lead to frustration and resentment. Their concerns should not be dismissed.

African leaders should see this as a wake-up call and focus on improving the livelihoods of their citizens by creating jobs, promoting economic growth, and providing opportunities at home. They should stop looting national resources and living lavish lifestyles alongside their cronies while their people continue to struggle without meaningful economic progress.

The challenges are real and deserve attention. At the same time, lasting solutions will require honest dialogue, responsible leadership across the continent, and policies that address both the needs of citizens and the realities of migration.

A few months ago, I made the difficult decision to leave a comfortable job and pursue my true passion because I was tired of living without purpose and fulfillment.

Today, I am grateful and proud to have completed my first novella, now available on Amazon https://a.co/d/0iWJ1qwP.

I am also working on a feature film script currently underway: https://mireilleshimba.com.

I have learned that there is never a perfect moment or an ideal time to begin. Too often, we become so focused on major accomplishments that we fail to appreciate the small milestones guiding us toward our dreams. Yet every step forward, no matter how small, is meaningful progress and deserves to be celebrated🥰🥰.

Last Year in Sep 2023 , I completed a screenplay " The calling"A man battling the legacy of his father’s alcoholism fights to save his failing marriage, but when he is wrongfully convicted of a murder he didn’t commit, his world collapses—forcing him into a life-altering encounter that could either redeem him or destroy him. " .The script is currently under review and hopefully soon by God's grace will be ready for production.

This year 2024, God gave me another screenplay and Novel "The Esther Generation" A young woman is torn from her world by a brutal kidnapping, only to be raised in privilege by a powerful family. Twenty years later, she unravels a web of dark secrets that tie her destiny to the very family that saved her. She returns to her homeland to liberate her people from oppression. I am so excited and cannot wait to deliver my second baby

When God gives you a dream, it is for a reason, no one else can dream it for you, no one else can pursue it for you , No one else can accomplish it for you , Pursue it with everything in you!!!
