Resilience. Sisterhood. Networks of care. Authentic power. Today we celebrate all South African women: past, present & future! Women's Day is one day. Equality is ongoing work. Around the world, progress is uneven. While some women gain greater freedoms, others see existing rights challenged or rolled back. Our work is not done. Onwards sisters!

Over 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest apartheid pass laws, popularising the phrase that became a rallying cry for South African women: 'Wathint' Abafazi, Wathint' Imbokodo' (you strike a woman, you strike a rock).
