South Africa is set for growth! The weekend win against New Zealand, and how the nation has united in support and celebration is an indication of a shift in mood.

Here are three reasons to believe we're entering a new period of sustained growth ⬆️

Last week Friday, Kirsten, co-founder of SA Diabetes Advocacy, had the opportunity to present to some of the key medical stakeholders in South Africa including representatives from the National Department of Health, Private Funders and Health Care Providers.

She addressed the critical need for expanding access to continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in South Africa, particularly within the public healthcare system. Despite its proven benefits in improving diabetes management and quality of life, CGM remains out of reach for many. It’s time for healthcare providers, private funders, and the government to collaborate and ensure that CGM is no longer seen as a luxury but rather as standard diabetes care. Together, we can transform diabetes care and create a healthier future for all South Africans.

"My dream is a South Africa where every person with diabetes can access the tools they need to manage their condition effectively. A South Africa where the fear of diabetes complications is reduced, and where people can live full, healthy lives, contributing to their families, communities, and the economy. The diabetes narrative needs to change."

A huge thank you to FIND, The Helmsley Charitable Trust and SEMDSA for making this stakeholder engagement a possibility.

This National Women's Day, we reflect on "30 Years of Freedom Towards Women’s Development" in South Africa. Since 1994, women have made remarkable strides in socio-economic empowerment, assuming leadership roles across all sectors. Yet, challenges remain, and our journey toward gender equality continues.

Let’s celebrate the progress made and commit to accelerating change. Investing in women is vital for sustainable development. Join us in honouring the past and shaping a future where every woman can thrive 🇿🇦

We're proud to be a part of the public launch of Relate Water, a new non-profit that is funding solar-powered water infrastructure for villages around South Africa. For a one-time investment of less than $100,000 (R1.8 million), an entire village of 3,000 to 5,000 people can have access to water forever!

This is life-changing.

Relate Water in partnership with Innovation: Africa, South Africa which was formed in 2018, have impacted over 700,000 lives with readily available access to clean water. We applaud the generous efforts of Lauren Gillis, the founder of The Relate Trust, without whom Relate Water would not be possible. A huge shout out to the Kane & Able team for their exceptional brand strategy which infused life into every detail.

We are also excited to share that we developed the Relate Water website and we encourage you to visit the site and contribute towards making a positive impact! A $22 donation ensures one more person gets water for life
