With flight prices climbing and nap schedules unravelling, there’s always a new hurdle to navigate when travelling with kids, but we take them anyway. Because there's nothing better than travelling while their world is still wide-eyed and wonder-filled. Because long after the logistics are forgotten, they’ll remember the first elephant crossing their path, the thrill of a lion’s call at dusk, and the feeling of being part of something bigger than themselves.

It may have looked a little different this year but thanks to being a we are able to give the gift of travel to these two yet again.

5 cheetah brothers. 2 lions roaring. 10+ wild dogs on the hunt. More elephants than anyone could count. And a heart full of memories. Our safari at was something truly unforgettable.

We just love a boating safari! The crocodile and hippo cruise with Advantage Tours was one of the highlights of our trip to St Lucia. We were lucky enough to spot multiple pods of hippos and a baby crocodile and with a secure shaded area and a snack bar on board, it was an enjoyable outing for the whole family!

If you’re heading to St Lucia with kids, this is one of those must-do experiences!

What's more profound than hearing lions calling to each other on safari? It's a sound that hits you at your core.

But for me, one noise that made my heart skip, was a small voice next to me whispering "I can hear Simba talking". And that's why I'll never leave my kids behind on safari. This right here is when they learn about the world that is bigger than themselves. They see what their TV shows or movies mean in real life. And where a real passion for wildlife sparks as they start to care for nature and life outside their bubble. How can we hope to raise a generation that cares for our planet if we never let them fully experience it?

Thanks for letting my kids, and me, have this moment...

As we move into 2026,
we're making time for what fills us.
Travel that shifts perspective,
days that slow the clock,
shared experiences.

We're intentionally making room for laughter,
for rest,
for moments, places, and people, that fill the cup.
Finding joy in the presence that comes from true shared parenting.
And patience too.
Its about knowing when to pause.
But also when to go.
When to say yes to adventure
and no to everything else.
It’s choosing connection.
With each other.
And our children, who remain the heartbeat of it all.
Nuturing their curiosity, their joy.
Strong in our convictions,
But all rooted in care,
And chaos, naturally.
