Last night marked the exciting launch of the DNL and Fast 3 Champs 2026, and TCM is proud to be a sponsor in bringing this to life.

NETBAL MAAK DEBUUT BY PAASNAWEEK-TOERNOOI!

Die Transnet/Saldanha-toernooi wat oor die Paasnaweek in Saldanha gespeel word, het ‘n reuse-tree gegee met die aankondinging dat netbal in 2023 deel van dié gesogte toernooi sal uitmaak. Dit sal die eerste keer in die bestaan van die geskiedenis dat netbal ook deel word van die sport-spyskaart.

Bertram Vraagom, direkteur van dié toernooi, het die aankondiging gisteroggend in Saldanha gedoen. “Die Transnet/Saldanha-rugbytoernooi het hom gevestig as die grootste amateur-toernooi op die sportkalender. Ons het ankerborge soos Transnet, Hollywoodbets, Supersport en nou het 3 Cube Management – een van die voorste aktiveringsmaatskappye in die land – ook aan boord gekom. Dit gaan net verder meer stukrag aan ‘n reeds gevestigde toernooi verleen. Volgende jaar is die netbal Wêreldbeker en wat n absolute fantastiese geleentheid om die atmosfeer te skep vir ‘n goue geleentheid. Die toernooi gaan ook nou meer voete na die stadion lok en sodoende gaan netbal sy regmatige staanplek kry in sport.”

By die laaste toernooi het 15 000 toeskouers oor die Paasnaweek deur die hekke gestroom. “Ek is absoluut in ekstase oor die rigting wat die toernooi nou inslaan met die koms van netbal. Dit gaan een sportfees wees,” sê Vraagom.

Bennie Saayman, president van die Wes-Kaapse Netbalfederasie, sê: “2023 maak ons as Wes-Kaap Netbalfederasie opgewonde met al die netbal op die spyskaart. Ons vennootskap met 3 Cube Management bring ’n nuwe kompetisie wat die ou Wes-Kaapse kampioenskappe vervang. Die sestien netbalspanne uit al 6 Wes-Kaapse netbaldistrikte sal in aksie wees by die rugby/netbal Paasnaweek-toernooi wat by die Transnet/Saldanha-stadion gespeel word. Die ses distrikte is: Kaapstad, Eden, Weskus, Sentraal-Karoo, Wynlande en Overberg. Dit behoort vonkelwyn netbal tot gevolg te hê waarna al die distrikte met groot entoesiasme uitsien. Beslis ’n jaar propvol netbal wat almal opgewonde maak.

Prof. Wilbur Kraak van WJK Consulting sê hy is opgewonde om deel te wees van die Paasfees netbaltoernooi. “Die toernooi gaan vir alle rolspelers van groot waarde wees en gaan ook bydrae tot die groei en ontwikkeling van netbal tydens ’n Wereldbeker-jaar.
