Help us celebrate another Powerhouse 🌸.
Keneuoe Maliehe is an exceptional scholar and Founder of Katz Smart. She completed her degree, BSc in geography, with cm laude in 2016. In the following year of 2017, she completed her BScHons in geoinformatics.
She landed a role as a director of a small aerial surveying company with her primary role being educating and exposing the market and prospective clients to the critical role that geospatial products play in the era of digital markets.
She joined the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in Germany, as part of the geomatics and participation programme funded by the state of Baden Wüntterburg. As part of the program, she joined the third and final semester of their master’s in geomatics degree, an intense programme focussing mostly on the programming component of geomatics. Her greatest accomplishment in that part of her journey was achieving a grade of 1 (which is the highest attainable grade in German institutions and is equivalent to 100% in the SA grading system) for a module on engineering photogrammetry based on a research project titled “Principles and Methods for Monocular Visual Odometry”.
In 2019, she was awarded a 55 000 Euro fellowship to study towards an MSc specialising in remote sensing at Maynooth University in Ireland, which she recently completed. On the Africa Ireland Fellowship programme, a prestigious fellowship with a highly rigorous selection process, she came out top on the assessment amongst the awardees.
In 2020, she co-founded KaTZ Smart (www.katzsmart.co.za), a geosciences, geospatial analytics and remote sensing consultancy. The company is established on the values of the African concept of Ubuntu as a response to the targets set up by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Affordable & Clean Energy and, Sustainable Cities and Communities.
As a scientist, power to me is Energy. What type of energy do you exert over those around you? What is your influence on them? May we Take the responsibility and enlighten our surroundings with kindness, selfishness and good influence.

Anyways... Leading up to women’s month, I got to fully understand why I’ve always advocated for women pursuing their Dreams despite the noice and all that was against them. For women who have gathered enough strength and the vulnerability to share their Gifts with the world. The women who have fallen seven times but stood up eight. The women who have fought for their rightful position in male dominated boardrooms. But above all the women who have carried other women, who have understood that success starts when the women around them succeed too. Women whose characters are shaped by how they treat those who can do nothing for them. Women who portray the Heart of God. These are all the women I have gathered strength from, these are women who empower me even without knowing. May we know them, May we be them, May we Raise them. Womandlaaa ✊🏽. I Celebrate you yet again,
