Cyber Security Technical Consultant
South African Reserve Bank - Pretoria, Gauteng
The main purpose of this position is to provide technical security support and consultation services to the various operations within the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Group, to ensure that technical security solutions are applied consistently for all initiatives within the SARB Group. In addition, to also drive vulnerability management,
including pe*******on tests and red team assessments.
Detailed Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
·
Conduct research and stay abreast of the latest security technology developments, practices and products.
·
Provide internal technical cyber-security consulting services to various subject matter experts within the SARB Group in order to ensure appropriate security solutions are in place.
·
Manage the delivery of the SARB Group Vulnerability Management Programme and guide the relevant technical personnel in order to ensure appropriate management of vulnerabilities.
·
Liaise with the Information Security Governance team to ensure control deficiencies are addressed as identified as part of vulnerability tests or consulting work.
·
Plan, coordinate and drive the ‘red-team’ assessments and to test the efficacy of the Cyber-Security Analysis and Response Hub.
·
Ensure the definition of technical standards in order to guide the information and cyber-security posture of the SARB Group.
·
Engage with stakeholders across the SARB Group at different levels of seniority, displaying the ability to solicit information as well as convey and explain information fluently.
·
Coach and transfer cyber-security technical skills to individuals with relevant security responsibilities.
Job Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
·
a Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Security, Information Technology or equivalent;
·
at least seven to nine years of experience, with at least five years in a senior technical cyber-security
consulting role; and
·
a Technical Cyber and Information Security Certification (for example, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or further ISC2 specialisation).
Additional requirements include:
·
cyber security and technical controls at a network and systems level;
·
vulnerability programme management;
·
systems development lifecycle and change management technical security knowledge;
·
‘red-team’ assessment knowledge; and
·
information technology trends.
