My name is Bianca Louw and I've been working in the Media industry since 2006. Here I gained knowledge of what designs work best for printing not to mention valuable client service knowledge. After completing my graphic design course I started working as a junior graph
ic designer for a teen newspaper. This was a wonderful challenge as it taught me how to take a lot of information and place it in a layout which is both visually appealing and makes sense when you read it. I then moved on in the same company and worked in a graphic design team. What a great privilege to learn from others. This time I gained experience specifically in corporate design, I was fortunate to work under an excellent manager who taught me to pay attention to detail and stick to the corporate identity. During my time there I also did a basic web course and learned how to build websites from scratch. I learned about Google analytics, keywords and descriptions, I gained knowledge on mailers and how completely different online media is from print media. I then received the opportunity to work for a company who had no corporate ID, an outdated website, and an outdated look. It was an exciting challenge to build a company's look from scratch, I used everything I've learned and started building a corporate image. Yet another learning curve. After a structure was in place, I started on something new… social media. I learned what works and what doesn't, and how South Africans operate on social media. I feel extremely blessed to have worked with such amazing people, to have learned and gained experience. I never stop learning new skills, since I've started freelancing in 2014 I've added wordpress websites and packaging design to my list of services.
