I love working from home and the flexibility that this offers to me and the rest of the team. However, I started this business through lots and lots of networking. I've been kind of missing that a bit lately but having moved to a small seaside town there are no groups to join.

Me being me, well, if its not available, "I'll just have to start one myself!"

So, I started a local business networking group, and so far its going really well! The aim is to bring people together, share collective knowledge and hopefully help everyone's business development, and make new friends!

I guess the moral of this story is, if something you want isnt availabe, maybe you can make it happen!

We just attended a really excellent webinar on Cybercrime by the UK police. They have loads of really great FREE resources for individuals and businesses.

With our lives becoming more digital, cybercrime is a massive issue. If a company gets stung with a ransomware attack and they have no backup, the chances are that company will go under!

Even as individuals working from home, you need to make sure your security is up to scratch. Worth reading this article and checking out their other webinars and resources.

The Cyber Resilience Centre for the South East exists to support and help protect businesses in the South East of England against cybercrime.

2024 has been an incredible year for us. Thanks to our wonderful existing customers, some on their own growth journey, allowing us to evolve with them. Also thanks to our exciting new customers keeping us on our toes!

None of this would be possible of course without the incredible BuySomeTime team, which has grown recently to be even stronger and more amazing.

I can honestly say that all of the people I work with are wonderful, inspiring and motivating and I couldn’t be happier.

I’m kind of amazed when I still see skills listed on CVs such as ‘typing’ and ‘minute taking’. (I’m not lying, it happens! I even saw the word ‘fax’ somewhere recently).

A sure way to make yourself look out of touch! Who needs anything typed anymore? Have you not heard of Otter.AI?

We’ve been working online for a long time, before the dreaded lockdown happened, but since then we’ve seen a huge change in the outsourcing landscape. Software tools have come on in leaps and bounds and more businesses are happy to have a remote team.

If you want a career online (or anywhere for that matter), you really need to show you have an understanding of how to manage work remotely and apply the many tools available to make things more efficient.

How amazing is it that it's possible to work from anywhere just with a laptop and internet connection!

I feel very fortunate to be able to work remotely. It’s been a journey to get here (literally!) and It’s been interesting to see how the companies I work with have evolved over the past few years to adapt to being more online.

If you're old enough to remember the days of brief cases and Filofaxes, we have come a long way! If you don't know what I'm talking about , check out the 1990 movie 'Taking Care of Business' 😂

I was having a look though previous articles I have shared, and this topic still comes up a lot.

Building your client base can be extremely challenging, so getting referrals is really gold!

Anyone who has started their own business from scratch will know that one of the most challenging aspects is building your client-base. I've run many workshops for small businesses, and this is the 'pain-point' that comes up more than anything else.
