Brand perception is everything. If consumers don’t know who you are it doesn’t matter how good your product or service is. PR and communications is a great way of getting your message out there for education and awareness which ultimately drives sales.

As wild as it is may seem, 2023 is now around the corner.
What are some marketing trends to watch out for?

- Conversational marketing, a practice that prioritises one-on-one with customers to enable more personalisation in customer interactions.
- Social media optimisation. The way people search organically has begun to change, so it's NB to optimize social media content as much as search engine optimisation (SEO).
- Emotional connections, because empowering and creating personal connections with customers can enable better results.
- Hybrid experience. The COVID-19 pandemic forced most experiences to support both physical and digital elements.
- Web3 - while still on the horizon, marketers should ramp up on Web3 for future strategies.

So, what are some practical examples of Marketing Communications in action?

Below are some examples of work we do for our clients:

- Audio: For one of our clients who wanted to raise their profile in the Social Innovation space globally, a podcast was the best way to position them as a thought leader.
- Visual: Professional team head shots are one of the 'back to basics' tactics for raising an organisation or brand's profile, especially when it comes to reputation of key leaders and spokespeople. Our go-to partner in this instance is Johan Botha of iPhoto, he's the best in the business and knows how to make people feel at ease and crack those smiles!
- Multimedia: Video content is also content tool that has proved useful for our clients, especially when it comes to fundraising for non-profit sector. (This can range from big budget production to small scale for social media use.)
- Copy: For another of our clients in the finance sector we develop monthly blog articles for their website to improve their SEO ranking and keep their existing clients informed about the latest industry movements, and offer tips. Another example of copy content is media statements or op-eds that we secure in the likes of Sunday Times for our clients.

The role of marketing or advertising is to evoke an emotive response.

If you were to ask anybody what their favourite campaign or brand is, the answer will inevitably be something that stirred an emotional response, brought on by a narrative journey. This sticks.

Understanding what's important to your target audience will help you speak 'their language' and packaging a message creatively to inspire wonderment is more likely to be remembered.
